  • Patent number: 11942687
Abstract: Systems and methods for operating an antenna with a tension cord network coupled to a plurality of anchor points of a perimeter hoop structure. The methods comprise: using the tension cord network to support a flexible antenna reflector surface such that a given shape of the flexible antenna reflector surface is provided; and allowing locations of the anchor points to change relative to the tension cord network while the antenna is in use. The flexible antenna reflector surface is held taut when the locations of the anchor points change relative to the tension cord network.

  • Patent number: 6287054
Abstract: Concrete blocks are used to build plantable retaining walls having varying angles. The blocks have a hollow inner volume, open at the top and bottom to enable the plants to grow therein. The side walls of the block each have a portion which is parallel to the longitudinal axial vertical center plane of the block. The parallel portions of the side walls include a plurality of connector-receivers to allow for the interconnection of one block with superimposed blocks at varying staggering positions by the engagement of discrete connector devices. The blocks may be interconnected to geogrids for the construction of reinforced retaining walls. The connection to the geogrids may be made using the same connector connecting the blocks or a distant one.

  • Patent number: 5595460
Abstract: A modular wall block is formed with a trough or recess in a top surface configured to frictionally receive fingers of a rake-like grid connection device. The fingers are engaged through apertures in an end portion of a grid-like sheet of material with the spine of the rake overlying the grid-like sheet of material, the remainder of the grid-like sheet of material extending rearwardly to reinforce the fill behind a retaining wall formed from a plurality of courses of the wall blocks. Slat members are selectively received in one of a pair of grooves defined in each side of the wall blocks with portions of the slats extending above the upper surface of the block to contact a surface of an opening formed in a superimposed block for positioning the front faces of the blocks in the retaining wall relative to each other in either a vertically aligned or rearwardly offset relationship.
