  • Patent number: 7988087
Abstract: A nozzle arrangement for a VTOL or STOVL aircraft having an airframe mounted lift system comprises a hinged deflector door pivotally mounted on the underside of the airframe for exhaust efflux deflection. The door is movable about its axis to vector impinging exhaust gases rearwards during the transition between vertical and horizontal flight, and in addition comprises a pair of lateral sidewalls which are movable in the plane of the door to direct the exhaust efflux sideways for improved aircraft yaw control.

  • Publication number: 20070260571
Abstract: Generating code is disclosed. A specification of one or more translation patterns is received. The one or more translation patterns are used to generate at least a portion of code associated with a translator. Using the one or more translation patterns to generate at least a portion of code associated with the translator results in the translator being configured to create a target object model. Creating the target object model includes populating one or more elements of the target object model in a processing order at least in part associated with an order of elements in the one or more translation patterns.

  • Publication number: 20070250762
Abstract: Content encoding rendering is disclosed. An indication of a desired interpretation of a starting content having a first encoding is received. The starting content is processed to generate a representation data comprising a second encoding of the starting content, wherein the second encoding is determined automatically and at least in part by the desired interpretation. The representation data is rendered using a view associated with the desired interpretation.

  • Publication number: 20070250497
Abstract: Determining a semantic relationship is disclosed. Source content is received. Cluster analysis is performed at least in part by using at least a portion of the source content. At least a portion of a result of the cluster analysis is used to determine the semantic relationship between two or more content elements comprising the source content.

  • Publication number: 20070162848
Abstract: Determining a style attribute is disclosed. An indication of a new object to be added to a content document associated with a template data is received. The style attribute for the new object is determined based at least in part on the template data.

  • Patent number: 5478016
Abstract: A vectorable nozzle for directing the thrust produced by an aircraft mounted lift fan includes three relatively rotatable nozzle sections. A first of the nozzle sections is part toroidal in form, and is mounted for rotation at the downstream end of the fan casing about an axis tangential to the casing periphery. The second and third sections define corresponding scarf nozzle sections which are mounted for rotation about respective axes perpendicular to the exit flow plane of the respective upstream nozzle section.

  • Patent number: 5379800
Abstract: A cam operated valve mechanism for directing the flow in a fluid flow duct to selective alternative outlets. The valve comprises an annular array of segmented elements which are each pivotally mounted to an axially translatable sleeve disposed coaxially within the duct. In a first axial position the sleeve extends across port and starboard alternative flow outlets, and in a second axial position extends downstream thereof. Each valve element comprises a cam follower which engages an axially extending cam track formed in the duct surface. The profile of the cam track is such that translation of the sleeve from its first to second axial position causes each of the valve elements to rotate from a stowed to a deployed position, and thereby obturate the duct.
