  • Patent number: 10953128
Abstract: A fibrin sealant product having a plurality of layers that each includes a dextran support and at least one fibrin sealant agent. The at least one fibrin sealant agent is placed on the dextran support to form each of the layers. The plurality of layers is placed in a stacked configuration to form the fibrin sealant product. A plurality of crimps is dispersed over a surface of the fibrin sealant product to retain the plurality of layers in a position with respect to each other.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 31, 2018
Date of Patent: March 23, 2021
    Assignee: St. Teresa Medical, Inc.

  • Publication number: 20160193381
Abstract: A method of forming a hemostatic product. A porous base is prepared that is capable of substantially dissolving when applied to a bleeding wound. A hemostatic agent is mixed with at least one salt to prepare a hemostatic mixture. The hemostatic mixture is dispersed on the porous base to form the hemostatic product.

  • Publication number: 20160038627
Abstract: A method of causing delayed hemostasis. A hemostatic product is formed by applying a hemostatic agent to a dextran support. The hemostatic agent is provided with at least one of a reduced concentration and a reduce availability. The hemostatic product is applied to a wound from which blood is being discharged. At least one foreign object or pathogen is proximate the wound. Hemostasis is progressively caused so that blood continues to be discharged from the wound to cause the at least one foreign object or pathogen to move away from the wound.

  • Patent number: 8147286
Abstract: A safety device includes an elongate tubular member formed of a buoyant material having gripping surfaces disposed on distal and proximal ends thereof. The elongate tubular member is positionable between initial and second positions. First and second appendages are disposed in mechanical cooperation with the proximal and distal ends of the elongate tubular member. A tether assembly is operably associated with the elongate tubular member and includes one or more couplings and a tether for releasably fixing the elongate tubular member in one or more second positions.

  • Patent number: 4008294
Abstract: Ultra fine polypropylene fibers having a length of 1-100 microns and a diameter of 0.05-2 microns are admixed with a polyester resin composition comprising a polyester resin of a polyhydric alcohol and an unsaturated polycarboxylic acid admixed with a solvent such as styrene in an amount effective to cause the resulting thickened composition to have a thixotropic index of 1.5-8. The resulting thickened composition is useful for building or repairing fiber glass-polyester boats. The incorporation of such ultrafine polypropylene fibers in an epoxy resin composition also thickens the epoxy resin composition and causes it to have a thixotropic index of about 1.5-8.
