  • Patent number: 11773737
Abstract: A stator vane assembly for a gas turbine engine is disclosed. The stator vane assembly includes an inner carrier including a metallic material and an outer carrier including a metallic material. The stator vane assembly further includes a ceramic-containing airfoil that extends from the inner carrier to the outer carrier and is at least partially received by the inner carrier and the outer carrier. The stator vane assembly further includes a load transfer device disposed between the airfoil and at least one of the inner carrier and the outer carrier. The load transfer device includes a support member fixedly attached to the at least one of the inner carrier and the outer carrier, and a plurality of micropillars coupled to the support member and extending towards the airfoil. Each micropillar is deformable and engages the airfoil.

  • Patent number: 8593026
Abstract: A magnetic gear arrangement is provided comprising a first gear member for generating a first magnetic field and a second gear member for generating a second magnetic field. A coupling element is disposed between the first and second gear members and provides arrangements of interpoles which couple the first and second magnetic fields. The coupling element comprises a plurality of magnetisable lamellae, each interpole in an arrangement of interpoles being formed from a group of neighboring lamellae. Selected lamellae are deactivatable to provide boundaries between adjacent interpoles. This allows different numbers and arrangements of interpoles to be formed, so as to provide different gear ratios between the first and second gear members.

  • Publication number: 20070012740
Abstract: An aerodynamic fluid holder for accepting fluid packs, such as water bottles, for mounting onto a bicycle is provided. According to one embodiment, the fluid holder comprises a first side, a second side, a stern, and a top. The first side can be connected to the second side along a lower edge and along a bow to define a hull. The stern can be connected to the hull at a distal end of the fluid holder and the top can be connected to the stern and the sides to define a cavity. One or more fluid packs can be housed within the cavity. The top has at least one aperture to accept at least one fluid pack.
