  • Patent number: 12389080
Abstract: Instructions are transmitted to first and second client devices to facilitate rendering of a video relating to an event (e.g., a broadcast of a live sporting event) together with event information (e.g., score information, online gaming information, team/player statistics). The first and second client devices are both instructed to receive the event information from an event socket of a socket server so that both client devices are synchronized and client-by-client latency is significantly reduced or mitigated. In one example, viewer latency between the event and the rendered video is on the order of two seconds or less. Event information is regularly updated at the event socket to also significantly reduce latency between the video and the event information. Event information may be rendered as one or more user-interactive features overlaid on or adjacent to the video.

  • Publication number: 20240414412
Abstract: A media source receives an audio/video feed of a live event and provides a first copy of the audio/video feed from a first media server endpoint to a first client device. The media source receives from the first client device a composite outgoing stream of the audio/video feed and additional video content. The media source provides a first copy of the composite outgoing stream from a second media server endpoint. A webserver transmits first instructions to a second client device to cause the second client device to: 1) connect to the second media server endpoint so as to receive, on a first communication channel, the first copy of the composite outgoing stream, and 2) connect to a socket of a socket server to receive, on a second communication channel, first digital content corresponding to first event information.

  • Patent number: 11871088
Abstract: A broadcaster device generates a live stream including video-based commentary regarding a live event combined with an audio and/or video feed of the live event itself. A viewer device receives a copy of the integrated live event and commentator stream and synchronized event information (e.g., real-time scores), and displays the integrated stream and the event information (e.g., as a “scorebug”). Viewers of a given live event may seamlessly select amongst different broadcasters for the same live event to access different integrated live event and commentator streams respectively synchronized with the event information. A social media platform is provided in tandem with live streaming of digital content relating to live events to allow a given broadcaster and their associated viewers to communicate with one another, comment on the event and/or the broadcaster's live stream, and send digital gifts.

  • Publication number: 20230379531
Abstract: Instructions are received at, or transferred to, a client device that includes a display, to cause the display to render a video relating to a sporting event and also render online gaming information. The instructions cause the client device to: receive, on a first communication channel, first digital content corresponding to a replay video of a recording relating to the sporting event; render the replay video based on the first digital content; receive, on a second communication channel different from the first communication channel, second digital content corresponding to the online gaming information, wherein at least some of the online gaming information relates to at least one bet; and render the online gaming information based on the second digital content, wherein the rendered online gaming information includes at least one interactive display widget that renders display content relating to the at least one bet.

  • Patent number: 11770591
Abstract: Multiple broadcasters create live streams of digital content relating to live events, and multiple viewers of each broadcaster receive copies of the live streams. Viewer latency is significantly reduced, and event information relating to live events is synchronized amongst all broadcasters and viewers of live streams relating to the same event. Scalable and flexible access to live streams is provided to different types and numbers of viewers with different qualities of service. A social media platform is provided in tandem with live streaming of digital content relating to live events, to allow a given broadcaster and their associated viewers to communicate with one another, comment on the event and/or the broadcaster's live stream and send digital gifts. In one example, the broadcasters' digital content relates to live sporting events, and studio-quality graphics and animations are provided on mobile client devices in tandem with the broadcasters' digital content and social networking functionality.
