  • Publication number: 20240154339
Abstract: A connector assembly comprising a pin connector assembly, a socket connector assembly, and an insulating member. The pin connector assembly comprises a generally cylindrical shape with an outer surface, an inner spring, and mechanically coupled to an electrical cable. The socket connector assembly comprises a generally cylindrical in shape with an inner surface, an outer spring, and mechanically coupled to an electrical cable. The contact surface stress between the pin connector and socket connector can be increased by the inner spring, the outer spring, or both. The contact resistance of the connectors is reduced by the increase in contact surface stress via the spring force. The insulating member can be threadingly coupled to the mated connectors.

  • Publication number: 20070024211
Abstract: A flexible cable is provided for a lighting system having a power supply that includes a power supply input to receive a first signal having a first frequency and a circuit for converting the first signal to a second signal, and at least one luminaire coupled to a lamp driver. The cable comprises a first leg of wires for carrying the second signal. The first wire electrically connects a loop output of the power supply to an input of the lamp driver and a second wire electrically connects an output of the lamp driver to a loop return of the power supply. The cable further comprises a second leg of wires electrically connected to a ground of the power supply and the ground of the lamp driver. The second signal has a substantially constant current and a second frequency distinctly higher than the first frequency. The flexible cable further comprises a modular connector.

  • Publication number: 20050200308
Abstract: A lighting system having a power supply and at least one luminaire. The power supply includes a power supply input to receive a first signal having a first frequency and a circuit for converting the first signal to a second signal. The power supply also includes at least one power supply output to output a second signal having a substantially constant current and a second frequency distinctly higher than the first frequency. The luminaire includes a lamp coupled to a lamp driver circuit, which has an input for receiving the output signal from the power supply and which is configured to use the received output signal to operate the lamp. The lamp driver input and the power supply output may be connected by a flexible cable.

  • Patent number: 6320133
Abstract: A power distribution system to distribute electric power having a source of alternating current of a frequency of 10 kHz or greater, a distribution line connected to the source, and at least one load. The distribution line has two substantially flat conductors separated by an insulating sheet, and an element formed of a material of high relative permeability associated with at least one of the conductors. With use of the system an electronic ballast can be used with dichroic and discharge lamps, with high efficiency and absence of light flicker. Substantial reduction in H field interference due to the high frequency alternating current is achieved with use of the distribution line.

  • Patent number: 6218622
Abstract: A distribution line for distributing high frequency alternating electric current having a first substantially flat conductor (1) and also a second substantially flat conductor (2), the two conductors being located in spaced parallelism and being separated by an insulator (3), at least one of the conductors (2) being associated with a further element (4) of a material of high relative permeability. A second element (5) of high permeability may be associated with the other conductor (1).
