Abstract: A method and a system are described that involve autonomic provisioning of hosted applications with level of isolation terms. In one embodiment, the system includes an infrastructure registry to provide a set of heterogeneous infrastructure resources, an autonomic provisioning service unit to select a subset of the heterogeneous infrastructure resources, (the subset of resources to fulfill a service level agreement (SLA) with a corresponding level of isolation), and a monitoring unit to collect information about the subset of resources and send the collected information to the autonomic provisioning service unit.

Abstract: A computer system, method and computer program for controlling a workflow process. A process modeling unit is configured to define a process model with at least a first task and a second task, wherein the second task needs to comply with a control aspect and depends on the first task, and is further configured to insert into the process model a control task between the first and the second task, wherein the control task is configured to enforce the control aspect on the second task by using a control service of a subsystem. A process execution unit of the system is configured to generate a process instance from the process model and to instantiate a control context to capture the current state of the process instance, the control context being used by an instance of the control task to invoke the control service according to the control aspect.

Abstract: A comprehensive security architecture for a virtual organization (VO) is disclosed. The comprehensive security architecture uses the same security mechanism or substantially similar security mechanisms to control access to VO infrastructure services as it uses to control access to resource services. Infrastructure services are services used to change the state of the VO and to change membership in the VO. Resource services (e.g. processing a purchase order) are services used in furtherance of achieving the objectives of the VO (e.g. build an aircraft). A security mechanism prevents a service call from accessing the service called until the security mechanism has decided to authorize or deny the service call. A security mechanism may decide to authorize or deny the service call based on details of the service call, a set of role-based access policies, and attributes from the caller's credentials including the caller's role in the VO.

Abstract: A method and system to automatically monitor business collaborations. Collaboration participants can formally express obligations about their expected behavior during the collaboration in business terms, then automatically monitor processes carrying out the collaboration using the formulated obligations. The method and system extends existing service oriented monitoring standards and architecture, specifically, with additional business oriented metrics and plug-in components that allow the monitoring system to calculate business parameters from measurements of multiple services.

Abstract: Techniques for providing application layer security may be facilitated by an arbitrator. In general, in one implementation, an arbitrator may receive a security tender including security requirements for an application, search for security services to fulfill the security requirements, determine whether discovered security services can satisfy the security requirements, and, if security services that can satisfy the security requirements exist, generate a security contract for the application, the security contract specifying how the application is to communicate with the security services that can satisfy the security requirements.

Abstract: A system architecture and algorithm for automatically generating, installing and enforcing access control policies that correspond to an agreed specification of collaboration. A collaboration member enforces its access control policies using a dedicated access controller separate from a workflow engine. In one embodiment, each access control policy contains extensions which can direct an access controller to selectively enable or disable various access control policies upon authorization of an access request.

Abstract: A method and system for a source participant assessing trustworthiness of a destination participant through one or more neighboring participants in a collaborative environment. The method comprises modeling all of the participants as network nodes and relationships between the participants as network paths and identifying a set of the network nodes and the network paths representing the neighboring participants that connects the network node of the source participant to the network node of the destination participant. Each of the network nodes of the neighboring participants as identified has a trust rating with best result, the trust rating is a relative measurement of feedback ratings. The trust rating of a first one of the network nodes of the neighboring participants as identified is computed with the feedback ratings between the first one of the network nodes and others of the network nodes directly connected to the first one of the network nodes.

Abstract: A package includes a container having a neck finish with at least one external thread segment and at least one pair of angularly spaced external lugs disposed beneath the thread segment. A closure has a cylindrical wall with at least one internal thread segment for mating engagement with the external thread segment on the container neck finish and at least one tab extending from the wall for receipt between the lugs to resist removal of the closure from the container neck finish and aligns the closure with the container body. The clockwise-disposed lug prevents over-tightening of the closure on the container neck finish, while the counterclockwise-disposed lug resists unthreading of closure from the container neck finish when the tab on the closure skirt has been received between the lugs.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for treating wood and other cellulosic materials to render the resistance to wood attacking organisms, such as termite, fungi and insects. More particularly, the present invention relates to a process for treating wood with borate preservative formulation which contains at least one boron-containing component and at least one resinous component capable of retaining impregnated borate inside the treated wood even upon contact with water. The resinous component may be rosin, rosin derivative, tall oil-based compound, or mixtures thereof.

A closure has at least one skirt, at least one internal thread on the skirt, at least one flexible resilient ratchet finger extending radially inwardly from the skirt at an angle to the skirt, and a seal element within the skirt for sealing engagement with the end of the container neck finish. Threading of the closure onto the container neck finish brings the ratchet finger into engagement with the ratchet teeth. The array of ratchet teeth and the seal element are such as to accommodate tolerance variations in the blow-molded neck finish while maintaining a seal and child-resistance capability at the neck finish.

Abstract: In one embodiment the fastening of a detachable panel can be seen in, an assembly comprising a fastener 28, a panel 10 and a supporting structure 12. The panel 10 and a flange 14 of the supporting structure 12 are formed with respective tapered holes 22,24 which receive the fastener 28, the taper of one hole being a continuation of the taper of the other. The fastener 28 is secured to the flange 12 and urges a tapered surface 32 of the fastener 28 into the tapered holes 22, 24 in a non-jamming manner thereby locating the panel 10 with respect to the flange 12 and hence with respect to the supporting structure 14.
