  • Publication number: 20150107112
Abstract: A harmonica with a tube plate that provides production of sweeter, clearer notes with a minimum of skill. The tube plate has a plurality of tubes and sits over the reeds and the comb under the cover plate, a tube coupled with each air chamber in the comb. The tubes form tunnels with the air chambers, enhancing reverberation and separating the sound waves emanating from the reed in each chamber. The tube plate can be added to a conventional harmonica. The harmonica has a plurality of reed units, each reed in a separate unit. Each reed unit is individually replaced when a reed requires replacement or when modification of the harmonica key is desired. The reed units can replace a reed plate in a conventional harmonica.

  • Patent number: 8426713
Abstract: A sound emitting system includes an abbreviated keyboard coupled to a speaker. The keyboard includes a plurality of rows stationed above a space bar row. The plurality of rows include labeled keys and unlabeled keys. The labeled keys correspond to five accidental notes and eight natural notes within a first octave. The labeled keys are labeled according to a keyboard layout. The speaker emits a note sound when one of the labeled keys is pressed.

  • Patent number: 8328652
Abstract: A portable apparatus for boring a dimple within a block of cue tip chalk. The apparatus includes a platform having an opening fully protruding therethrough. The apparatus also includes a column having an upper end and a lower end. The lower end includes a blade. The column is disposed within the opening substantially perpendicular to the platform. Upon application of a force on the upper end, the column moves with respect to the platform in a direction substantially perpendicular to the platform. The blade is configured to bore the dimple. The column is coupled to a spring biased to maintain the column in a position the column was in prior to the application of the force. The apparatus further includes a means for controlling an extent of movement of the column in the direction.

  • Patent number: 8222506
Abstract: A multimedia system for teaching how to play a harmonica and other musical instruments that graphically indicates a note to be sounded by using a letter symbol pointing to a hole on the harmonica. The symbol graphically indicates when to blow, when to draw, when to hold the note and when to use a slide when playing the note by using a plurality of graphical display modes and sounding the note in a correct manner. The system graphically cues a next note by displaying an indicator over the hole for the next note while pointing with the symbol to the currently played note. A display scrolls a plurality of tablature for the melody. The system runs on a cross-channel multimedia player on a plurality of operating systems that allows a sequence of notes to be selectively looped repeatedly, speeding up or slowing down the playing of a note sequence.

  • Patent number: 5697852
Abstract: A method for packaging a cue tip chalk, involving cementing a chalk-impervious paper wrapper to the sides of a cube of chalk, leaving the ends of the cube exposed, and covering one of the exposed ends of the cube with a releasibly mounted cap, whereby chalk may be applied to a cue tip selectively from either end of the cube. When one end of the cube becomes excessively eroded through use, removing the cap from the other end exposes a new, fresh chalk surface. Alternatively, other wrapping materials, or a coating applied directly to the surface, may be used in place of a paper wrapper to cover the sides of the cube. Additionally, optional detent means are provided to help retain the cap during use of the chalk.
