Patent number: 12186191Abstract: An device for treating a native valve includes a sealing element and an anchoring element. The sealing element is made from a braided mesh material. The sealing element is dimensioned to be deployed in an annulus of a native valve of a heart at a position between native valve leaflets to contact the native valve leaflets during ventricular systole to create a seal to prevent regurgitation of blood from the left ventricle to the left atrium. The sealing element is configured to both be radially expanded and radially reduced while at the position between the native valve leaflets. The anchoring element is adapted for deployment in the heart, the anchoring element coupled to the sealing element and configured to support the sealing element at the desired position between native valve leaflets.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 2021Date of Patent: January 7, 2025Assignee: EDWARDS LIFESCIENCES CORPORATIONInventors: Sergio Delgado, Lauren R. Patent number: 12060170Abstract: Systems, methods, computer-readable medium, vehicles, and engines provided herein include or implement flexible engine monitoring features. In one aspect, a user-modifiable file containing selected parameters is uploaded to a vehicle having a propulsion system, such as an engine. A computing device associated with the engine generates, without modifying reporting software or any other software, a parameter reporting list that includes the selected parameters. During operation, parameter values for the selected parameters are recorded. In another aspect, a data query is transmitted to an aerial vehicle while in-flight. The data query includes a user-modifiable file that contains selected parameters for which parameter values are to be recorded. A computing device associated with the engine generates, without modifying reporting software or any other software, a parameter reporting list that includes the selected parameters.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 2021Date of Patent: August 13, 2024Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Philip Taylor Smith, Jr., Christina Marie Britton, Jeffrey Charles Siefke, Laurence James Stoate, Nana Katherine Noel

Patent number: 12050223Abstract: Disclosed is an in vitro method for assessing whether a human patient suffering from periodontitis has mild periodontitis or advanced periodontitis. The method is based on the insight to determine a selection of three biomarker proteins. Accordingly, in a sample of saliva a patient suffering from periodontitis, the concentrations are measured of the proteins Interleukin-1? (IL-1?), Matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) and at least one of the proteins: Interleukin-6 (IL-6), and Matrix metalloproteinase-3 (MMP-3). Based on the concentrations as measured, a value is determined reflecting the joint concentrations for said proteins. This value is compared with a threshold value reflecting in the same manner the joint concentrations associated with advanced periodontitis. The comparison allows assessing whether the testing value is indicative of the presence of advanced periodontitis or of mild periodontitis in said patient.Type: GrantFiled: May 23, 2018Date of Patent: July 30, 2024Assignee: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS N.V.Inventors: Gerben Kooijman, Supriyo Chatterjea, Marinus Karel Johannes De Jager, Amir Hussein Rmaile, Michael Alex Van Hartskamp, Philip Preshaw, John Taylor

Publication number: 20230332871Abstract: An electronic target measurement system is disclosed such that the system includes image capture device(s), an access point device, and a user device. Each image capture device acquires a series of successive real-time images of at least one target with a plurality of regions of interest (ROIs). The access point device receives the images and transmits the images to a user device. The user device performs image preprocessing on the images, determines via an image differentiation process that a difference exists between the images, extracts the ROIs and locations of impact (LOIs) from the received image, and determines ROI center points, LOIs within the ROIs, and LOI center points. The user device also determines regional scores based on the distances between the ROI center points the LOI center points, and then a total score by adding the regional scores for the plurality of extracted ROIs.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 17, 2023Publication date: October 19, 2023Applicant: ELEY Ltd.Inventors: Philip TAYLOR, Michael ATKINSON, Frederic SAGE
