    Abstract: The invention discloses a tokenless biometric identification computer system, comprising at least a database containing registered biometric samples of users. A comparator compares a bid biometric sample of a user to at least one registered biometric sample, the bid biometric sample obtained directly from the user during an identification process for conducting an electronic transaction by the user. A stored audio signature is associated with a transaction processor entity, which the transaction processor entity is responsible for conducting the electronic transaction. A sound generator generates an analog or digital signal from the stored audio signature, and a transducer converts the analog or digital signal to a play back audio signature.

It has been found that the use of such a tin oxide inclusive interlayer results in significantly improved mechanical durability, thermal stability and/or haze characteristics.

    Abstract: An article, such as a power tool, that includes a housing, a motor, and an anti-theft device is provide. The anti-theft device may be disposed within the housing or within a cavity located in the housing and may be enclosed by a covering, such as an adhesive label. For example, the anti-theft device may be housed within a clip that attaches the cord strap to the power cord of the article. The anti-theft device may be located on a component of the article remote from the motor to decrease the likelihood that the anti-theft device will be deactivated by a magnetic or electromagnetic field generated by the motor. In addition, a method is provided for deterring the theft of electronic articles. The method includes placing an anti-theft device inside an article that contains a motor and activating the anti-theft device by passing the article through a magnetic field with the device having an appropriate polarity.

    Abstract: A modular system for packaging of sensors and related electronics for an MWD system. A drill collar housing is provided with one or more cavities for receiving sensor modules that are adapted to sense one or more wellbore conditions. The sensor modules are removable and replaceable so that a desired sensor package may be installed within the drill collar housing. The drill collar housing is installed within the drill string, and a desired sensor module or modules are secured within the cavity(ies) of the drill collar housing. Replacement or repair of the sensor portions requires only that the module or modules be removed from the cavity(ies). The drill collar housing need not be removed from the drill string. The replaceable sensor modules may be interchangeably used in drill collar housings of different sizes without resulting in a degradation of sensed information.
