Patent number: 12203334Abstract: A high expandable straddle and a method of providing annular isolation at a location in a well bore. The straddle includes two expandable pipe sections with a base pipe section therebetween and end pipe sections for connection in a tubular string. The straddle may be run in tubing with restricted inner diameters and by the introduction of pressure to the saddle over 30% expansion can occur to the expandable pipe sections to seal and grip the tubing spanning a fault. An embodiment is described with the straddle being of unitary construction, the expansion pipe sections having thinned walls and being entirely formed of an austenitic stainless steel. An anchoring arrangement and/or seals may also be located on the expandable pipe sections.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 2023Date of Patent: January 21, 2025Assignee: Vertice Oil Tools, Inc.Inventors: Christopher Cockrill, Philip Turrell, William Luke McElligott, Cameron Radtke

Patent number: 11993984Abstract: A downhole coupling mechanism for use in downhole tools that find application in wells exploited by a hydraulic refracturing process. The downhole coupling mechanism connects first and second tubular sections via a tensile load arrangement of wires located in complimentary grooves, a torque arrangement of interlocking lugs and notches on opposite ends, and a seal arrangement. The downhole coupling mechanism provides a thin walled coupling where a screw-threaded connection could not achieve the required tensile load, torque and sealing properties needed. Embodiments of a thin walled anchor and packer including the downhole coupling mechanism are described.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 2023Date of Patent: May 28, 2024Assignee: Vertice Oll Tools, Inc.Inventors: Christopher Cockrill, Philip Turrell, Cameron Radtke
