    Abstract: This invention concerns a device for killing insects consisting essentially of (i) a toxin-containing element, and (ii) a mesh covering for the toxin-containing element of (i) to protect nontarget organisms from contact with the toxin, the toxin-containing element comprising about 50% to 78% of the surface area and the mesh covering comprising about 22% to 50%; and a method for killing insects by exposing them to contact with the described device.
