    Abstract: A brake device which can be mounted on such vehicles as a bicycle and includes a brake disc which is fixed for rotation with the hub between a backing plate and pressure plate stationarily mounted. An actuator is provided for moving the pressure plate toward the backing member to squeeze the brake disc therebetween and impart a braking action on the disc and hub.
