  • Publication number: 20040173414
Abstract: The invention relates to a lift installation (20) comprising a lift cage (21), a lift shaft (22) and a drive unit (25), the lift cage (21) being moveably installed in the lift shaft (22) and controlled by the drive unit (25) in such a way that it (21) can stop at various positions in the lift shaft (22). Said lift shaft (22) is provided with a detection device (29) for detecting whether a person is in a critical area (32, 33) of the lift shaft (22) or whether the person is about to arrive into one such area. The detection device (29) is connected to the drive unit (25) in such a way that the lift installation (20) can be switched into a special operating mode if a person is in the critical area (32, 33) or about to arrive into the same. The drive unit (25) comprises a special control device (30) which, when the lift installation is in the special operating mode, stops the lift cage (21) before it arrives in the critical area (32, 33).

  • Publication number: 20040173413
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for preventing an inadmissibly high speed of the load receiving means of an elevator by continuously monitoring the actual speed of the load receiving means (elevator car) by means of a speed monitoring device (24). If an excess speed is detected, the speed monitoring device (24), depending on the excess speed situation, is adapted to activate at least three different breaking measures successively.

  • Publication number: 20040173410
Abstract: An improved lift system door control or safety circuit utilizes locking devices for the lift shaft doors and lock sensors to monitor the status of the locking devices. The lock sensors are coupled to a lift drive unit control through a data bus, which need not be especially designed as a safety data bus. The lock sensors are repeatedly interrogated at short term intervals. The status of the doors is interrogated on a longer time interval, and such data is also passed to the drive unit control by the data bus. The interrogations are used to determine the operating condition of the locking sensors as well as whether communications or transmission errors are present.

  • Patent number: 6776454
Abstract: The invention concerns a seat (1) with a seat support (2) which has a seating surface (3) as well as a backrest (4) connected pivotable with it, which seating surface (3) and backrest (4) are mounted adjustably and fixably on a seat bracket (7) for adjusting the position of the seat support (2). For the seat (1) of the invention, it is characteristic that back inclination of the backrest (4) is adjustable in connection with a fixed seating angle (&agr;) between backrest (4) and seating surface (3) by pivoting the seat support (2) relative to the seat bracket (7), and that the seating angle of the seating surface (3) is adjustable in connection with a pivotal point (9) fixed in the longitudinal direction of the seat by pivoting the seating surface (3) relative to the backrest (4). The seat (1) of the invention is distinguished by a comparatively short adjustment pathway through a large back inclination adjustment of the backrest (4).

  • Publication number: 20040007429
Abstract: A method for monitoring shaft doors of a elevator installation uses at least one contactlessly acting shaft door monitoring sensor to emit a beam of electromagnetic waves, wherein at least during specific detection phases the beam extends over several floors and is detected by a receiver. The beam is influenced by a shaft door panel not being completely closed and/or a shaft door lock not being disposed in the locking setting such that a disturbance signal is generated to the elevator control.
