  • Publication number: 20060163775
Abstract: A method and device for producing a cover for an airbag in a motor vehicle are provided, wherein a carrier component made of plastic material is formed by injection molding. The carrier component is provided with weakening grooves which delimit flaps permitting the deployment of the airbag. The carrier component is also provided with a top material on its exterior side facing away from the airbag. After injection molding the carrier component, in the still plastically deformable state, the grooves are formed in the carrier component by hot stamping.
