Abstract: In the field of secure avionics systems for aircraft, a system comprises strictly three display units and three or four graphics generation computers connected to the display units. Each display unit comprises a single large-size screen able to display two totally independent half-images, and all the power supply, control and display circuits are doubled-up such that a single failure brings about the loss, at the most, of one half-screen. Each display unit is connected to two graphics generation computers at least, such that the failure of one computer does not affect the display.

Abstract: A blade of/for a hockey stick having: a toe, a heel, rear face, and front face. The front face has a striking surface intermediate the toe and the heel, and a plurality of front protrusions forming a front face textured zone extending along a portion of the front face proximate the toe and the striking surface. The front protrusions are shaped to be engageable with a puck to hinder slippage of the puck along the front face when the puck is in contact with the front protrusions. The front face also has a front face reduced-texture zone (which may be at least one of a front face non-textured zone and a front face less-textured zone). The rear face may optionally be similarly configured.

Abstract: The method according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention allows an improved travel request service to end-users who request proposals for a trip from a Global Distribution System (GDS). This uses a new travel request which comprises a wider range for each search parameter than previous travel requests from the prior art. The new travel request includes many different ranges of parameters in the same travel request whereas the prior art travel request has to be repeated for each different requested value for each search parameter. The method according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention provides a combination of two modules, a master module and a worker module, to carry out the improved travel request service.

Abstract: A method for determining the benign or malignant state of a breast tumor in a biological sample is presented. The benign or malignant state is determined by measuring the variation of expression of twelve genes and at least one variant of each of the twelve genes when the variants exist, using a combination of 50 polynucleotide probe sets. An expression profile of the sample is then compared with reference expression profiles of control benign and malignant breast tissues. The probe sets can be arranged in a microarray.

Abstract: The object of the present invention is a manufacturing process for a roller composed of a metal core covered by an elastomer coating and having an axis of symmetry, this process involving a first winding of a first non-vulcanized elastomer sheet onto the core, a vulcanization. This process is characterized in that it involves at least one stage consisting of doing a complementary winding, following the first winding and preceding vulcanization, winding at least one second sheet of non-vulcanized elastomer, the first sheet and the one or more second sheets being such that the hardnesses obtained after vulcanization are different. The object of the invention is also the monolithic elastomer roller with a heterogeneous hardness obtained by this process.
