  • Publication number: 20090185992
Abstract: A pearlescent pigment, wherein the pigment is an inorganic material and the color of a homogeneous coating of the pigment, measured over a black background has a CIELAB hue angle, hab, from about 40 to about 320 degrees, wherein L* is from about 35 to about 80, and the chroma value is less than 5. A substrate is coated with iron oxide by oxidizing an iron salt to form a pigment. The pigment may be made by a process of coating iron oxide on a substrate by oxidizing an iron salt. During the coating of the iron oxide, the pH of the mixture is increased. The coating formed has a Fe(III)/Fe(II) ratio of greater than 2. The pigments may be used in a variety of applications including coating, ink, plastic, and cosmetic compositions.

  • Patent number: 7563687
Abstract: A manufacturing process for a capacitor in an interconnection layer includes the following stages: Deposit of a first metallic layer (21); Deposit of a first insulator layer (31) on the first metallic layer (21); Deposit of a second metallic layer (41) on the first insulator layer (31); Formation of an upper electrode (4) in the second layer metallic (41); Deposit of a second insulator layer (13) covering the upper electrode (4); Etching of the second insulator layer to form a spacer (14) on this first insulator layer surrounding the upper electrode (4); then Formation of a lower electrode (2) and a dielectric (3) by removal of parts from the first metallic layer and insulator not covered by the upper electrode (4) or the spacer (14); and Formation of an interconnection line (5). This process allows for manufacturing capacitors with an increased performance, in a simplified fashion at lower cost and with an auto-alignment.

  • Patent number: 7565541
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and systems for identifying a digital fingerprint. One embodiment compensates for the inaccuracies resulting from the unstable nature of the circuits that yield digital fingerprints and, therefore, allows for reliable identification of these digital fingerprints. According to one embodiment, the digital fingerprint (identification) is divided into a plurality of sections and stored in a database. According to this embodiment, fingerprints are identified by comparing the sections of the fingerprint to be identified with corresponding sections of the fingerprints stored in the database. The matching fingerprint, in one embodiment, is the fingerprint associated with a statistically sufficient number of matching fingerprint sections. Other embodiments of the present invention optimize the section lookup methodology based on the stability of the sections of the fingerprint.
