  • Publication number: 20200409811
Abstract: To locate an intermittent fault in a communication structure of an aircraft comprising pieces of equipment that are interconnected by cabling forming a plurality of communication media that are shared, an analyzer retrieves an error report relating to transmission errors observed on each of said communication media, performs a count of the transmission errors, per type of error and per communication chain, computes a median of the counts for communication chains comprising the same pair of wired pieces of equipment, and when, for a communication chain, the count exceeds a threshold equal to the median plus a predefined margin, generates an alarm indicating detection of an intermittent fault in association with the communication chain that led the threshold to be exceeded. Thus, intermittent faults are easily located and repaired.

  • Patent number: 10876377
Abstract: A multilateral entry tool enables an operator to identify a target lateral wellbore, and efficiently guide a bottom hole assembly (BHA) into the target lateral for diagnostic, servicing or other wellbore operations. The multilateral entry tool provides independent control over both kick-over and orientation mechanisms such that the operator may either pivot the BHA without rotating, or rotate the BHA without pivoting. The BHA may be rotated in either direction, and the degree that the BHA can be pivoted may be fully adjustable. Sensors on the entry tool may penult the operator to verify a successful lateral entry, and the BHA may be straightened to reduce drag as the BHA is advanced into the lateral wellbore.

  • Patent number: 10875187
Abstract: A robotic arm mounted camera system allows an end-user to begin using the camera for object recognition without involving a robotics specialist. Automated object model calibration is performed under conditions of variable robotic arm pose dependent feature recognition of an object. The user can then teach the system to perform tasks on the object using the calibrated model. The camera's body can have parallel top and bottom sides and adapted to be fastened to a robotic arm end and to an end effector with its image sensor and optics extending sideways in the body, and it can include an illumination source for lighting a field of view.

  • Patent number: 10874852
Abstract: An autonomous capsule includes a tubular body provided at its distal end with an anchoring screw, and in its proximal region of a capture groove. An explantation accessory includes a reinforced catheter combined with a flexible wire which can slide in the catheter and has a deformable loop which can be clamped by gradual introduction of its ends in the catheter under the effect of a traction exerted on the wire. During tightening, the capture groove receives the wire loop, allowing, after complete tightening, to secure in tension and rotation an assembly formed by the catheter, the capsule, and the wire. The reinforced catheter is then used to transmit a tensile force and an axial torque from its proximal end to its distal end, allowing safe unscrewing of the capsule and its extraction through the patient venous network.

  • Patent number: 10877575
Abstract: In a multi-user, collaborative environment, an operating system state change can occur by passing a stylus pen from one user to another. Upon detecting a change of the active user, a state machine transition can result in a change in a user experience. In one example, a change in the user experience includes a change in user interface (UI) functionality. Some examples include changing color of the digital ink being displayed, changing a handwriting pattern, and automatically switching a view displayed on the user interface. The switched view can be switching from a single-user model to a multi-user model. In another example, a state machine transition can result in establishing connections between devices (e.g., phones or laptops) associated with the users that used the pen.

  • Patent number: 10880186
Abstract: In one embodiment, a supervisory service for a software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) detects seasonal service level agreement (SLA) violations by one or more tunnels in the SD-WAN using a machine learning-based regression model. The service identifies a root cause of the seasonal SLA violations by determining whether the root cause of the seasonal SLA violations is associated with an internal network connected to the one or more tunnels. The service further identifies the root cause by determining whether the root cause of the seasonal SLA violations is associated with a particular service provider network over which the one or more tunnels traverse by associating the seasonal SLA violations with SLA violations by tunnels in other SD-WANs that also traverse the particular service provider network. The service initiates a corrective measure based on the determined root cause of the seasonal SLA violations by the one or more tunnels.

  • Patent number: 10879612
Abstract: The invention discloses an antenna arrangement and a method of designing the same, the antenna arrangement being tuned to radiate in a plurality of bands. The antenna arrangement comprises a first conductive element which has a compact linear 2D or 3D form factor. It also comprises leaves attached to the first conductive element, the position, dimension, form factor and orientation of which are defined based on their impact on frequency shifts of the fundamental and harmonic modes, so that the antenna arrangement radiates at a plurality of predefined frequencies. The design method uses maps of hot areas where the sensitivity to the parameters defined for the leaves is maximal. Advantageously, the design method is performed in a manner which uses an orthogonality of the impacts of the parameters of the leaves vis-à-vis the different radiating modes. The antenna arrangement is compact and well adapted to applications to the IoT and consumer communication devices.

  • Patent number: 10876467
Abstract: A method for controlling an inlet-adjustment mechanism in an air inlet for a compressor so as to switch the mechanism between open and closed positions for adjusting a flow area of the inlet. The method includes an algorithm for determining when the inlet-adjustment mechanism is in a failure mode. In accordance with the method, when the operating point on the compressor map is on the high-flow side of a threshold line at which the inlet-adjustment mechanism is switched from one position to the other, a measured speed or pressure ratio is compared to a theoretical value for the speed or pressure ratio based on a compressor map for the open position of the mechanism. If the measured value differs from the theoretical value by more than a predetermined tolerance, a failure mode is indicated.

  • Patent number: 10875190
Abstract: Gripper pads are provided for use, augmentation or retrofitting in a robot manipulator. The gripper pads distinguish a dry adhesive layer with dry adhesive wedges that would interface with an object that is desired to be manipulated. The plurality of dry adhesive wedges is organized in a pattern such that the pattern has at least two different orientations for the direction of the plurality of wedges. The gripper pads further distinguish a sensor array underneath the dry adhesive layer. The data obtained from the sensor array provides an estimate of the shape and size of the contact between the gripper pad and the object when the dry adhesive layer is in contact with the object.
