  • Patent number: 8153928
Abstract: A laser cutting/welding installation including a laser head configured to deliver a laser beam and a cooling device for cooling the laser head is disclosed. The laser beam is designed to generate a hot spot on a workpiece by incidence thereon and form a solder bath from a portion of the workpiece affected by the hot spot. The cooling device includes a vortex tube with a compressed gas inlet supplied with a compressed gas, a cold gas outlet, and a hot gas outlet. The vortex tube cold gas outlet is plumbed directly to an interior volume of the laser head and configured to deliver a cold gas directly to the interior volume of the laser head for cooling thereof.

  • Patent number: 7850061
Abstract: A method for making a component including fluid flow channels formed by making a plurality of grooves (12), in at least one face (21) of a base plate (10); having opposite ends so that the grooves have open top sides; scalably blocking the open top side of each groove and diffusion-welding a lid by hot isostatic compression onto the face (21) of the base plate (10) to cover each of the strips leaving open the fluid flow channels at one or both opposite ends of the base plate for allowing pressurized gas to penetrate into the flow channels.

  • Publication number: 20080116246
Abstract: A method for making a component including fluid flow channels. Grooves (12) are made in at least one face (21) of a base plate (10); the grooves (12) are sealably blocked by means of thin strips (16); a lid (22) is diffusion-welded with hot isostatic compression on the face (21) of the base plate (10) with the grooves above the thin strips (16). The grooves include fittings (14) with which the strips (16) may be received. The strips are for example welded by laser welding.

  • Publication number: 20070194088
Abstract: The invention relates to assembly means (101) for parts, comprising at least one weld bead (106,206) produced by transparency and intended to fix at least two parts (2, 4) to each other, each weld bead (106) having a start point (114) and an end point (126). According to the invention, at least one weld bead (106) defines at least one closed line (116,124) delimiting an internal zone (117, 125) within which at least one of said start and end points (114,126) of this weld bead (106) is located. Particularly applicable to the domain of assembling components of automobile vehicle bodies.

  • Patent number: 6101941
Abstract: In a rotary printing press, a printing unit cylinder having a printing form with bent ends fastened thereon so as to form a printing form cylinder with a printing form mounted thereon, the bent ends of the printing form being provided with fastening tabs extendable into the interior of lock-up gap sections formed in the printing form cylinder, and webs respectively alternatingly disposed opposite one another being formed on a leading edge and on a trailing edge of the printing form, between the fastening tabs of the printing form, includes a plurality of pockets formed on a circumferential surface of the printing form cylinder, wherein the fastening tabs of the printing form engage, the webs provided between the fastening tabs and formed on the printing-form leading edge and the printing-form trailing edge terminating on generating lines of the printing form cylinder which differ from one another.
