The content description defines keywords, values attached to each keyword and a localization of values attached to each keyword in a piece of content. Each time a subscription request for a notification service related to the received content description is received from an end user, keywords values and the delivery channels selected by the user are recorded. A notification rule associated with the end user based on the selected keyword values and the localization of the selected keyword values in the content is generated. Each time a piece of content related to the content description is received from the content provider, the received piece of content is adapted to comply with the generated rules. For each rule previously generated, the values contained in the adapted piece of content are checked against the values as defined in the rule for each localization.

The method includes looking in a context table for a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) defined in a service request in order to determine the server able to provide the requested service, appending a service availability request to the request before sending the request to the server, appending a service availability token to the reply provided by the server before sending the reply to the proxy, removing the service availability token from the reply upon reception thereof by the proxy, and updating the context table in the proxy before sending the reply to the user workstation by using information contained in the service availability token.

Abstract: Method of accessing Internet resources provided by at least a content server in a data transmission system including a proxy connected to an Internet network, the proxy being provided with authentication means for authenticating a user when receiving a request for Internet resources therefrom, and wherein the proxy transmits the user request to the content server which sends back a response to the proxy together with at least one cookie containing information about the user's session. The proxy receiving the response with the cookie stores the cookie in a user context database and transmits this response to the user after the cookie(s) has (have) been removed from the response, so that the user can send all requests for accessing the Internet resources contained in the content server to the proxy.

Abstract: A method and system for determining the best data path in a communication network is presented. A Least Cost Routing path between end users in a multi-network environment, including both public and private networks, is determined based upon a longest prefix match. At network activation time, the numbers or prefixes of numbers of end users attached to the public network (304, 305) are stored in entry node data bases A and C of the private network (303). Assuming an end user terminal U1 calls a target end user U3, an entry node B first checks for a longest prefix match between the called number and numbers already stored into its memory. If this is the first time U3 is called via node B, no match will occur and node B will then broadcast a Query to all nodes in the private network (i.e. Nodes A and C). Only those nodes providing possible access to U3 answer this Query.
