  • Publication number: 20040245057
Abstract: A cable (22) for connecting connecting an operating lever (20) to a disc brake (12), and mechanical-energy accumulation means (28), which are separate from the cable (22) and which connect a proximal strand (22P) to a distal strand (22D) of the cable. Preferably, the mechanical-energy accumulation means (28) comprise a spring (34), which is connected with the proximal strand (22P) and with the distal strand (22D) of the cable so as to be elastically deformable when these strands move relative to each other, between a rest position, towards which it is resiliently biased, and a position in which it accumulates energy.

  • Publication number: 20020179380
Abstract: Hand brake for a motor vehicle, comprising a lever (12), mounted on a support (10) so as to pivot about an axis (14), between a rest position and an active position, and a winding hub (16) for a brake-applying cable (28), said hub being fitted to the lever (12) so as to rotate about an axis (18) parallel to the axis of rotation (14) of the lever (12). An engaging spring (32), an end of which is fastened to the lever (12), is close wound on the hub (16) so as to rotationally interlock it with the lever. A tension spring (48) constantly biases a free end (36) of the engaging spring in the direction of contraction of the latter on the hub (16).

  • Patent number: 5664646
Abstract: The invention relates to a disc brake with a housing, at least one brake pad, a lever device with an eccentric consisting essentially of a shaft fitted with an actuating or rotating lever, and with a pressure member or eccentric follower. The eccentric has two bearing sections on either side of the rotating lever; the eccentric follower has a bolt engaging in the central threaded hole of a nut. Two lateral bearings on the nut receive the bearing sections of the eccentric. There are mechanisms for taking up wear which extend the eccentric follower according to the wear of the brake pad by screwing the bolt out of the nut.

  • Patent number: 5249648
Abstract: The disk-brake comprises a clevis (5), a sliding caliper (3) and an operating mechanism, the latter comprising a mechanism (19) having a wedge displaceable longitudinally between the caliper (3) and a piston, to move them apart, through the action of a pusher (21), which in turn is driven by the pushrod (25) of a drive mechanism (23). The drive mechanism (23) is fastened to the clevis (5) of the brake and the pusher (21) exerts on the wedge a force whose main component is parallel to the plane of the disk and directed in the predominant direction of rotation of the latter.
