  • Patent number: 9045845
Abstract: A composite yarn for technical or industrial use, particularly suitable for textile webs, is uniformly coated with a polymer and exhibits improved fir behavior and improved resistance to sheath stripping. The yarn may be obtained by a process where a continuous yarn, obtained by spinning a large number of fibers, such as about 100 to 600 fibers made of an organic or inorganic material, of a suitable yarn diameter, such as between about 1 to 10 micrometers, is subjected to a process for mechanically opening the yarn by splaying, to uniformly spread out and separate the fibers, including inner layers of the fibers, without impairing functional properties of the yarn, simultaneously with or prior to coating of the fibers by a polymer material having a viscosity between 1000 and 10,000 mPa·s, and formed to have a circular cross-section and uniformly distributed fibers throughout the cross-section of the polymer material to limit desheathing of the yarn.

  • Publication number: 20050042447
Abstract: The invention concerns a composite yarn consisting of a continuous yarn, obtained by spinning fibers made of organic or inorganic material or natural fibers, and a polymer material. The invention is characterized in that the consecutive fibers said yarn are uniformly distributed in said polymer material such that each of said fibers is coated by said polymer material. The invention also concerns a method for making such a composite yarn and a textile structure obtainable from at least a composite yarn of the invention.

  • Patent number: 5291082
Abstract: A power switch comprising: at least one bipolar transistor (T1), the base of which is controlled through an amplifier 12 by a control signal (VC) and a sensor (10) of the current (I) flowing through the switch; at least one insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) (T2) connected in parallel to said at least one bipolar transistor (T1), the gate of which is controlled by said control signal (VC); and means (S) for inhibiting the base control of said at least one bipolar transistor (T1) when the current flowing through the switch is lower than a predetermined value (I.sub.0).
