Abstract: A device for protecting an area of the human body including a joint, includes a semi-rigid outer shell (10) made of an elastically deformable material and an inner shock-absorbing protective element (20), intended to be placed facing the body. The device is able to be deformed laterally so as to match the shape of the body in the area including the joint. It also includes elements capable of maintaining it in each given lateral deformation position, in the form of deformable rigid transverse inserts, and elements (105, 205) for folding the device along a transverse axis.

Abstract: Composite textile material for protecting the human body against heat, essential comprising an outer zone providing a leakproofing function, an intermediate zone in which a flow of air circulates, and an inner zone allowing mass and heat to be transferred into the intermediate zone, the material being characterized in that it is constituted by a three-dimensional cloth (1, 3, 4) having one fabric (1) of hydrophobic cloth constituting the outer zone, and having its other fabric (4) in the form of a woven cloth or a knit of hydrophilic fibers and constituting the inner zone, the two fabrics (1, 4) being interconnected by link threads (5) enabling the intermediate zone to exist.

Abstract: A method for making a unit including a pressure-sealed container (2) with at least one connecting port (3), and an active solid (1) placed in said container (2). The container (2) is formed directly on a preformed body of the active solid (1) and made of a material having a thermal conductivity of more than 18 W/m. K. The resulting units are particularly useful for making portable air-conditioning devices for garments.

Abstract: The invention relates especially to a refrigerating device comprising a pressure-resistant container (1) furnished with an adsorbent material (2), which device furthermore comprises an adjustably set valve (7) whose passage communicates, on the one hand, with the inside of the container and, on the other hand, with the outside, and means (5, 6) for bringing said container temporarily into communication with a pressurized source (10, 11) of gas which can be adsorbed by said adsorbent material.Use in refrigerated clothing or portable refrigerators.

Abstract: A material for manufacturing protective equipment against nuclear, biological and chemical attacks, includinga non-woven polyolefin substratean outer layer made of a polyolefin film,an intermediate layer of a protective material selected in the group comprising ethylene-hydrolyzed vinyl acetate (with 20-40% ethylene) copolymer (EVOH) and polyethylene terephtalate coated with polyvinylidene chloride,the different layers being binded together by using suitable binders.This material is appropriate for manufacturing pieces of clothing, tents, sheets, sleeves, and so on, in a protective purpose.
