  • Patent number: 9422170
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for treating water laden with pollutants for the purpose of making the water drinkable, said method including: an elimination step consisting of contacting said water laden with pollutants, within a stirred contact tank (2), with an active particulate material (19) using a predetermined concentration of the active particulate material (19) in said water; an extraction step consisting of continuously extracting from said contact tank (2) a mixture consisting of water and of active particulate material (19); a separation step consisting of continuously separating said active particulate material (19) from said mixture. According to the invention, the separation step consists in particular of feeding the mixture of water and active particulate material into a filter drum (4).

  • Publication number: 20110192801
Abstract: A method or process for removing suspended solids from water. The method entails utilizing floating particles that include a flocculant material secured or coated to the floating particles. The floating particles are directed into a lower portion of a treatment zone and as the floating particles with the attached flocculant material move upwardly through the water, suspended solids attach or agglomerate on the floating particles. Once at the surface level of the water being treated, the floating particles can be removed and a cleaning process can be implemented where the suspended solids attached or agglomerated around the floating particles can be removed and the cleaned floating particles can be recycled and used for further water treatment.

  • Publication number: 20110062079
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for treating freshwater, sea water, brackish water or water exiting a drinking water treatment plant containing organic matter, with a view to the potabilization thereof, recycling thereof, desalination thereof, or with a view to the purification thereof for an industrial application, said process comprising at least a first step (11) of filtration, by a nanofiltration or reverse osmosis, of a flow coming in from a primary treatment step (10) and a second step (13) of filtration, by nanofiltration or reverse osmosis, of a concentrate coming from said first filtration step (11). According to the invention, such a process comprises a step (12, 12?) of intermediate treatment that includes a biological and/or oxidation treatment and/or a coagulation at low pH of said concentrate coming from said first filtration step (11) and/or of said concentrate coming from said second filtration step (13).
