  • Publication number: 20080205509
Abstract: For a simultaneous dual-band reception or transmission of video signals and data in a domestic environment, a terminal in a communication system is made up of a front end module connected to digital processing circuits via a circuit designed for MIMO techniques. At least two antennas linked to the terminal are broadband and dual-access, each of the accesses corresponding to a path for receiving or transmitting signals in a first or a second frequency band. The front end module comprises first switches connected to the paths for receiving or transmitting signals in the first frequency band, and second switches connected to the paths for receiving or transmitting signals in the second frequency band. It also comprises selective high-pass filters in the paths for receiving or transmitting signals in the highest frequency band.

  • Patent number: 7355495
Abstract: The invention relates to a microwave filter comprising a coaxial structure, consisting of a tubular outer conductor and an inner bar conductor. According to the invention, the inner bar conductor extends in an axial direction inside the outer tube and, together with said tube, forms a series of concentric slots in the axial direction thereby defining successive coaxial line segments with low characteristic impedance and coaxial line segments with high characteristic impedance. The aforementioned concentric slots are produced in a synthetic foam block.

  • Patent number: 7292123
Abstract: The invention relates to RF bandpass filters with pseudo-elliptic response. In a filter comprising a dielectric substrate placed in E position in a rectangular waveguide and comprising inserts on one of the surfaces of the substrate are placed conductors linked electrically to the walls of the guide, and on the other surface of the substrate opposite these conducting inserts are placed electrically floating inserts that make it possible to determine zeros in the transmission curve of the filter. This yields a filter exhibiting a response curve of pseudo-elliptic type which improves the rejection of spurious frequencies without increasing the dimensions of the filter.

  • Patent number: 7218801
Abstract: The invention proposes an optimized solution of a frequency/polarization splifter that requires no adjustment after production and can be produced entirely by moulding. The polarized-wave splitter comprises various components, including a polarization splitter 1 coupled to two filters 3 and 5 via transition regions 2 and 4. The overall dimensions of the various components are such that the transfer characteristics of the splitter are better than the characteristics resulting from the sum of the characteristics of the components constituting the splitter.

  • Patent number: 7132907
Abstract: The module comprises an input/output access point at a first end of a waveguide with a square cross section, called a square waveguide, two access points made of waveguides with a rectangular cross section, called rectangular waveguides, placed side by side at a second end of the square waveguide and a septum positioned in the square waveguide at the end of a separation region common to the two rectangular waveguides in order to allow the production of two circular polarizations of opposite handedness each associated with a rectangular waveguide. The module is arranged so as to form a diplexer in which the septum is included and where the access points by rectangular waveguide are extended by filters, each access point being endowed with a filter provided in order to transmit a frequency band which is different. The steps of the septum are dimensioned so as to compensate for reflections.

  • Patent number: 7061444
Abstract: The network antenna of the RLSA type in the form of a radial waveguide has a feed structure allowing simultaneous excitation of the antenna in two orthogonal linear polarizations. The feed structure, essentially placed to the rear of the antenna, consists of a circular waveguide placed at the centre of the radial waveguide and coupled to the latter by two circular slots for the excitation of the antenna in a first linear polarization and of a coaxial waveguide surrounding the circular waveguide and coupled to the radial waveguide by radial slots, the coaxial waveguide being excited by a ring-shaped waveguide placed coaxially on the outer periphery of the coaxial waveguide and coupled to the latter by slots distributed around the inner periphery of the ring for the excitation of the antenna in a second linear polarization orthogonal to the first linear polarization.

  • Publication number: 20060109189
Abstract: The invention proposes a primary feed providing an asymmetrical illumination compatible with an elliptical reflector and having a small space requirement. The invention uses a short rod to modify the radiation of an open waveguide section. The invention is an antenna comprising a radiating feed made up of a waveguide, one end of the waveguide forming a radiating aperture. The end forming the radiating aperture is fitted with a rod made of dielectric material, said rod being partly inserted in the waveguide. The rod is extended outside the waveguide over a length less than twice the guided wavelength and the section of the rod develops outside the waveguide differently in each of the planes.
