  • Patent number: 10907451
Abstract: A single trip multi-zone completion system includes a plurality of completion sections operatively coupled together and extendable within a wellbore. Each completion section includes a base pipe providing an interior and defining one or more perforations at a single axial location to provide fluid communication between the interior and an annulus defined between the completion section and a wellbore wall. One or more sand screens are radially offset from the base pipe such that a flow annulus is defined therebetween, and a production sleeve is movably arranged within the interior of the base pipe between a closed position, where the production sleeve occludes the one or more perforations, and an open position, where the one or more perforations are exposed. A shunt system is positioned about the base pipe to receive and redirect a gravel slurry flowing in the annulus, and thereby provide an alternate flow path for the gravel slurry.

  • Patent number: 10851623
Abstract: A downhole sand control completion system includes a completion string extendable within a wellbore and including one or more sand control screen assemblies arranged about a base pipe, each sand control screen assembly including one or more sand screens positioned about the base pipe. A shunt system is positioned about an exterior of the base pipe to receive and redirect a gravel slurry flowing in an annulus defined between the completion string and a wellbore wall. A return tube is positioned about the exterior of the base pipe and extends longitudinally along a portion of the completion string. The return tube defines a plurality of openings to receive a portion of a fluid in the annulus into the return tube to be conveyed into an interior of the base pipe via the return tube.

  • Patent number: 10465474
Abstract: A system for use in completing a wellbore includes a portion of a workstring extending into the wellbore such that a first annulus is created between the workstring and a portion of the wellbore. The portion of the workstring is inserted to a depth corresponding to a base, such as a sump packer that defines a lower boundary of the completion zone. The zone of deployment may be sealed uphole by a second packer included in the workstring. A service tool having an inner sleeve, an outer sleeve, and a rotating mandrel positioned therebetween is provided to deliver fluids and execute completion operations as facilitated by rotation of the mandrel. Rotation of the mandrel allows for control of multiple fluid flow paths, each of which may correspond to a completion process within the zone, without displacement of the service tool in an uphole or downhole direction.

  • Publication number: 20160040522
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for extracting hydrocarbons. The steps involve extracting a process flow from an underground formation, separating this flow into at least one hydrocarbon-containing fraction and one aqueous fraction referred to as the produced water, and reinjcting an injection water into the underground formation. The injection water intended to be introduced into the underground formation is produced partly in a direct-osmosis unit from produced water and partly in a nanofiltration and/or reverse-osmosis unit. The invention also relates to a process for extracting hydrocarbons throughout the exploitation life of the underground hydrocarbon reservoir, and to an injection-water production device especially designed for implementing this process.

  • Publication number: 20140318774
Abstract: Fluids with high carrying capacity for particulates in high pressure environments that may also be high temperature environments may include a viscosified base fluid having a density of about 14 ppg to about 20 ppg and comprises an aqueous fluid, a salt, a gelling agent, and an oxygen scavenger. Such fluids may be utilized in methods that involve providing a sand control screen assembly disposed within a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation; and forming a gravel pack proximal to the sand control screen assembly with a treatment fluid, wherein the treatment fluid comprises the viscosified base fluid and a plurality of particulates.
