  • Patent number: 9268436
Abstract: The general field of the invention is that of touchscreen devices with projected capacitive detection comprising a touch-sensitive matrix panel comprising a plurality of conductive rows and conductive columns, said panel being connected to electronic control means. The electronic control means generate two periodic transmission voltages transmitted at two different frequencies. Analysis of the reception voltages is used to determine the positions of presses on the touch-sensitive panel, including when a row or column is cut. Pressing on a cut row or column is basically determined by calculating the barycenters of ‘virtual’ hollows in the reception voltages corresponding to this cut row or column.

  • Patent number: 9092100
Abstract: The general field of the invention is that of touchscreen devices with projected capacitive detection comprising a matrix-form touch pad comprising conductive rows and columns, said pad being linked to control means and electronic reception and analysis means. The control means generate, for each conductive row and column, a first periodic emission voltage emitted at a first working frequency and a second periodic emission voltage emitted at a second discrimination frequency, different from the first frequency. The electronic reception and analysis means are arranged so as to determine, for each row and for each column, the impedance of a first reception voltage at the working frequency and the impedance of a second reception voltage at the discrimination frequency. According to predetermined values, the values of the two impedances are representative of a touch on the touch pad and its location on the row or on the column concerned.

  • Publication number: 20140191769
Abstract: The general field of the invention is that of touchscreen devices with projected capacitive detection comprising a matrix touchpad comprising a plurality of conducting rows and of conducting columns, the said pad being linked to electronic control means. The electronic control means generate two periodic emission voltages emitted at two different frequencies. The analysis of the reception voltages makes it possible to determine the positions of two simultaneous presses on the touchpad, including when the two presses are done on rows or columns that are close. The determination of the presses is performed essentially by calculating the barycentres of the troughs of the reception voltages.

  • Publication number: 20120086667
Abstract: A force measuring method for a touchscreen device makes it possible to measure the force applied to the touchscreen. The principle of the invention consists in measuring the displacement of the two plates supporting the conduction lines and columns of the touchscreen, a displacement which is proportional to the force applied. The displacement of the plates is known by analysis of the variation of the capacitive impedance induced by the presence of an actuator to displace the plates.

  • Patent number: 6404353
Abstract: A process for detecting the point of touching of a tactile surface. A high frequency signal is sequentially supplied to four corners of a plate having a capacitive surface. This is accomplished by supplying one diagonal with the others being idle. The output voltages are measured at the four corners for all the various possible positions of touching. Relations between voltages are established from these measurements obtained for each diagonal. During touching, the relations obtained are compared with those stored in order to locate the point of touching.
