  • Patent number: 6130056
Abstract: In a device for studying and recording electrophysiological phenomena in culture of excitable tissues comprising a lower half card with a perfusion membrane in a perfusion chamber sealed by a permeable and transparent membrane and an upper half card with a flexible printed circuit bearing a network of electrode and fitted with a cap for insuring the closure of the device, the improvement comprising the upper half card being comprised of an upper half and a lower half card which when assembled together for recording yield a functional set up.

  • Patent number: 5958762
Abstract: A device for culturing dissociated cultures or organotypic cultures on pieces of pre-cut membrane comprising discs of membrane which are circled by a plastic ring provided with a tab and the patch of membrane which is placed in a culture medium selected from the group consisting of in a culture insert, on a semi-solid medium and on the membrane of a box, consisting of a case made of transparent plastic material formed by two assembled parts which are hermetically sealed, the lower part being separated into two compartments by a permeable membrane defining a lower compartment which serves as a reservoir for the culture medium and an upper compartment intended to receive one or more circled membrane discs or eyelets, serving as the site for the cell culture and its use.

  • Patent number: 4421646
Abstract: The instant invention relates to an improved filtering device adapted to eliminate any risk of clogging of the filtering material. The invention provides a filtering device for treating any effluents, which comprises a plurality of filtering walls arranged successively between a chamber containing the effluent to be filtered and a chamber containing the filtered effluent, each filtering wall being constituted by spacedly justaposed strips having a trapezoidal section with the large base of the trapezoid located on the inlet face of the filtering wall, said strips being separated from each other, on the inlet face of the filtering wall, by intervals of equal widths forming slots which define effluent inlet areas, the sum of said inlet areas constituting the total inlet area of a filtering wall, and the total inlet area of the upstream wall being less than the total inlet area of the adjacent downstream wall.
