Abstract: A method for the acquisition of structured data to be memorized by a terminal, the structured data being periodically broadcasted in the form of sets of structured data flows, the method comprising: receiving a starting data flow available at an address known by the terminal and comprising information for accessing at least one selected set of structured data flows, associated to an update piece of information, determining according to the update piece of information if the selected set has been updated, and if the selected set has been updated: receiving structured data flows of the selected set, and updating the data memorized by the terminal with the updated data received.

Abstract: There is provided a method of displaying additional content by a user terminal, comprising: receiving by the terminal digital content items of video broadcasting services, the digital content items comprising video programs, displaying by the terminal a content item selected from the received digital content items, receiving by the terminal additional content items associated with one of the video broadcasting services and with context data, and displaying by the terminal a content item selected from the received additional content items if a current context of the terminal corresponds to the context data of the content item.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method of compressing a structured document having a tree-like structure comprising elements nested in each other, each element comprising attributes and a value field which may comprise other elements, the method comprising defining a simplified type comprising only a part of attributes of an original type, and for each element of the original type, replacing the type identifier in the element with an identifier of the simplified type when the element differs from a previous element having the original type only in the attribute values or presences of the simplified type attributes.

Abstract: A system for activating a microphone based on visual speech cues, in accordance with the invention, includes a feature tracker coupled to an image acquisition device. The feature tracker tracks features in an image of a user. A region of interest extractor is coupled to the feature tracker. The region of interest extractor extracts a region of interest from the image of the user. A visual speech activity detector is coupled to the region of interest extractor and measures changes in the region of interest to determine if a visual speech cue has been generated by the user. A microphone is turned on by the visual speech activity detector when a visual speech cue has been determined by the visual speech activity detector. Methods for activating a microphone based on visual speech cues are also included.
