  • Patent number: 8002222
Abstract: A protective glove includes at least one resilient member (17) integral with chain mail fabric and arranged to draw the chain mail fabric of at least one of the glove fingers (16) in the direction or substantially in the direction of the longitudinal axis thereof and toward the wrist portion (12). The resilient member or members (17) are disposed on the portion (11) intended to cover the hand. These resilient member or members (17) are preferably in the form of a flat spring of pin type. The resilient members enable the chain mail to fit at best the fingers of the hand and enable in particular to limit, or even eliminate, the presence of an excess of chain mail at the end of the glove user fingers.

  • Patent number: 7845020
Abstract: An article of clothing or a decorative article, at least one portion of which is made of chain mail fabric made of interweaved metal rings, wherein the chain mail fabric portion is associated with at least one resilient member arranged so as to tighten the chain mail fabric on a part of the user's body and/or to draw and tension a portion of the chain mail fabric so as to absorb a local excess of material. At least one of the resilient members is in the form of a flat spring (4) of pin type, consisting of a juxtaposition of elongated wire arms (5) connected in pairs by an elastic joint (6), where an articulation axis of the elastic joint is perpendicular to a plane containing the respective pair of wire arms.

  • Publication number: 20090064387
Abstract: The invention concerns a particular method of making a protective garment or a part of a protective garment, such as a glove, an apron, a vest or the like, said garment or part of garment comprising a web of metal particles assembled together, such as a web of interleaved metal rings or a web of metal platelets assembled by metal linking rings or the like. The method according to the invention is characterized in that it consists in the following steps: firstly, starting with structurally hardened metal or metals not thermally treated, carrying out operations of metal particle cutting, shaping and possibly assembling, secondly, heat treating said obtained particles or said metal web obtained after the assembling operation, so as to increase strength and hardness characteristics of the metal particles constituting said web, and finally carrying out a final operation of making the protective garment or finalizing the garment.

  • Patent number: 7188373
Abstract: A mail chain protective glove consisting of a part designed to cover the hand, extended by a full sleeve-like part devoid of lateral slot, designed to be urged to cover part of the wrist zone, which wrist portion is extended optionally by a cuff protecting the forearm or the arm, likewise in the shape of a full sleeve devoid of lateral slot. The glove provided with a fastening system on the portion covering the wrist and/or the protective cuff. The binding system consists of a hook member which co-operates with at least an orifice provided in a catching structure, which hook member is provided with a projecting element which forms a gripping element facilitating the fastening manoeuvre on the receiving structure as well as the unfastening manoeuvre.
