  • Patent number: 6884368
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for production of a mixture comprising hydrogen and CO by partial oxidation of a hydrocarbon by an oxygenated medium, according to which the processing is carried out under autothermal conditions with the heat given off by said oxidation being recovered to maintain the endo-thermic reactions which take place between the non-oxidized fraction of said hydrocarbon and the CO2 and the steam produced by said oxidation, being characterized in that the reaction gas mixture comprising the hydrocarbon and the oxygenated medium is passed through a porous medium (4) which has been preheated beforehand, thus making it possible to heat the reaction gas mixture by heat exchange with the porous medium to a temperature threshold sufficient to initiate combustion reactions, rendering unnecessary an external heat supply when operating continuously.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 13, 2001
Date of Patent: April 26, 2005
Assignee: L'Air Liquide Sociétéanonyme a Directoire et Conseil de Surveillance pour l'Etude et l'Exploitation des Procedes Georges Claude
    Inventors: Serguei Zhdanok, Philippe Labrune

  • Patent number: 5503657
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the separation of a gaseous hydride or a mixture of gaseous hydrides from a gaseous medium containing at least one gas from the group consisting of H.sub.2, Ar, He, according to which the gaseous medium is passed on to a membrane module so that the concentration of the hydride or of the mixture of hydrides obtained at the outlet of the module is higher than their initial concentration in the gaseous medium.

  • Patent number: 5425857
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the electrolytic generation of arsine from an electrochemical cell provided with a cathode supplied with H.sup.+ and AsO.sub.2.sup.- ions where two concurrent reactions take place producing arsine and gaseous hydrogen respectively, and an anode where a reaction producing H.sup.+ ions takes place, the ratio of the H.sup.+ /As concentrations at the cathode being controlled and kept constant.
