  • Publication number: 20240009910
Abstract: An extrusion device (100) for forming as a thin strip a product based on a rubber mixture includes: a rotating roller (112) with a groove (112R) in the form of a continuous helix made on the outer surface (112a) of the roller, the groove including several striations (112Ra) arranged one beside the other in the direction of movement of the mixture, and the striations being spaced apart from one another so as to create a thread of predetermined pitch; and a vault bearing, on its inner surface oriented towards the roller, projecting threads so as to delimit with the surface of the roller a chamber for plasticizing the mixture The roller and the vault are assembled such that thread crests created by the helix and the crests of projecting threads on the vault are substantially in contact with one another.

  • Publication number: 20170129156
Abstract: An Extruder for providing a flow of viscoelastic material such as rubber is disclosed herein. The extruder includes several zones (A, P, H, S), each assigned to a particular rheological function and arranged axially from an upstream end to a downstream end of the extruder and having an endless screw of given diameter (D). In each of the zones, at least one helicoidal flight extends radially from a central shaft of the screw over a height (h1), in a direction and with a pitch which are defined for each of the zones, and which is rotationally driven about an axis (XX?) in a barrel.

  • Patent number: 7803299
Abstract: An extruded profiled element, based on a cross-linkable rubber composition, is delimited in width by two lateral faces which connect radially inner and outer faces to one another for the tread. A conducting element is provided in the profiled element to connect the inner face electrically to the outer face between the lateral faces and all along the length of the profiled element. The remainder of the profiled element is based on an electrically insulating material. When the profiled element is viewed in cross-section, the conducting element has a layered structure including electrically conducting layers which are essentially concentric and which have a curvature towards at least one of the inner and outer faces, with at least one of the layers emerging at the surface of the outer face.

  • Publication number: 20060202378
Abstract: The present invention concerns in particular an extruded profiled element consisting of a cross-linkable rubber composition, a process for obtaining this profiled element, and a tire tread based on the said extruded and cross-linked profiled element. An extruded profiled element according to the invention is delimited in width by two lateral faces which connect radially inner and outer faces to one another for the tread, conducting means being provided in the profiled element to connect the inner face electrically to the outer face between the lateral faces and all along the length of the profiled element, the remainder of the profiled element being based on an electrically insulating material.

  • Patent number: 7052267
Abstract: An extrusion device (1) for manufacturing a product based on a rubber mix, which comprises a rotary roller (5), an inlet orifice (15) for the rubber mix and a vault (6) partially circumferentially covering the external surface (51) of the roller (5), the rubber mix being driven from the inlet orifice (15) into the air gap situated between the vault (6) and the roller (5) towards an extrusion orifice (21) defining the profile of the product. The extrusion orifice is delimited by a wall (20) which cooperates with the external surface (51) of the roller (5), and the vault (6) carries on its internal surface oriented towards the roller projecting threads in order to delimit with the surface (51) of the roller a chamber for plasticization of the mix, at least two of the threads extending substantially axially of the roller.
