  • Patent number: 12017932
Abstract: Apparatus for separating grit from a grit-loaded liquid matrix while retaining organic solids in suspension, including an inlet for admitting liquid matrix into the apparatus, an outlet for removing grit-lite liquid matrix from the apparatus main chamber, and a vortex system for removing separated liquid matrix grit from the apparatus. The grit settling main chamber defines upper and lower subchambers communicating with each other through a central aperture. A fluid flow speed gradient is established between the apparatus fluid inlet and outlet. An Eddy type fluid dynamic component is added, providing combined enhanced coarse grit and fine organics discrimination and separation. The Eddy fluid dynamic component may consist of a trio of stationary fresh water supply force fed eductors.

  • Patent number: 7554232
Abstract: The invention relates to a protective cover which is intended to be mounted on the rear bearing (14) of a polyphased rotating electrical machine, such as an alternator or an alternator-starter for a motor vehicle. The inventive cover is of the type that consists of: an outer frame comprising a rear bearing and supporting a polyphased wound stator, the phase outputs thereof being connected to a phase connector (102); and a support which is made from an electrically-insulating material, which is mounted in a fixed manner to the rear bearing and which supports the phase connector (102). The cover is designed both to support the phase connector and to cover the rear bearing. The invention also relates to an alternator and an alternator-starter comprising one such cover. The invention is suitable for alternators and alternator-starters for motor vehicles.

  • Patent number: 5270605
Abstract: A three-phase alternator for a motor vehicle has a rotor consisting of two pole wheels, each comprising a radial plate and a plurality of projecting teeth. Each tooth has an outer surface and two lateral surfaces, the outer surface being joined to a rear face of the radial plate through an inclined surface. Each tooth is formed with at least one antinoise chamfer adjacent to the outer surface, lateral surface, and inclined surface of the tooth, and adjacent also to the rear face, the antinoise chamfer being inclined by a different angle from that of each of these surfaces to which it is adjacent.

  • Patent number: 4181541
Abstract: Thermochemical Treatment System and Process for the treatment of steel or steel alloys by ionic bombardment. Two successive stages of operation are involved in which during the first stage, a DC voltage is applied across the electrodes of a furnace so that the furnace operates at a point far enough away from the arc formation zone to prevent formation of an arc and lies in the zone of abnormal discharge. During the second stage, a succession of pulses of voltage pulses of high voltage but of limited energy is applied to the furnace electrodes, and the operating point of the furnace moves along the voltage-intensity curve to a limit point far enough away from the arc formation zone, so that no arc formation takes place.
