  • Patent number: 9261471
Abstract: A device for monitoring a urea solution in a tank of a motor vehicle tank includes a light source capable of emitting a light beam, a photodetector capable of detecting a portion of a light beam emitted by the light source, and a part made of a material allowing the propagation of a light beam emitted by the light source. The part includes a surface intended to be in contact with the urea solution. The light source, the photodetector, and the part are arranged in such a way that a light beam emitted by the light source is propagated by the surface of the part, by refraction, toward the photodetector. A tank including such a monitoring device is provided. A process for monitoring a urea solution in a tank of a motor vehicle is also provided.

  • Patent number: 8850796
Abstract: A system for a fluid tank for storing a urea solution in a motor vehicle, the system including a first float having a first density and a second float having a second density, the first and second floats being movably arranged on a guide in the fluid tank, the first density is less than a density of the urea solution at a reference temperature but greater than a density of water at the reference temperature, and the second density is less than the density of water at the reference temperature. The system further includes a control system configured to receive signals indicative of a level of the floats, and to generate an anomaly signal in response to detecting sinking of the first float and floatation of the second float.

  • Patent number: 8826930
Abstract: Ventilation system for a fuel tank comprising a pump, an active liquid/vapor separator (LVS) that can be drained using the pump, in which a roll-over valve (ROV) that is normally open brings, by default, the internal volume of the LVS into communication with the pump and only blocks this communication when the level of fuel in the valve reaches a certain height or when the tank is tilted beyond a certain angle, or even overturned.

  • Publication number: 20140132951
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for monitoring a urea solution in a tank of a motor vehicle tank. This device comprises a light source capable of emitting a light beam, a photodetector capable of detecting a portion of a light beam emitted by the light source and a part made of a material allowing the propagation of a light beam emitted by the light source. The part has moreover a surface intended to be in contact with the urea solution. The light source, the photodetector and the part are arranged in such a way that a light beam emitted by the light source is propagated by the surface of the part, by reflection or by refraction, toward the photodetector.

  • Patent number: 8241577
Abstract: Process for storing an additive and injecting it into the exhaust gases of an engine and comprising two tanks for storing the additive and one pump for supplying the additive from these tanks to an injection line, these two tanks being in parallel and each being connected to the pump by a branch of the supply line, each of these branches being equipped with a non-return valve and these two valves being calibrated so that the valve located in the branch coming from the first tank (1) is normally open but closes when this tank is empty, and so that the valve located in the branch coming from the other tank (2) is normally closed but opens when the valve from tank (1) is closed or when the branch coming from this tank (1) is blocked.
