    Abstract: A closure 10 for a container, comprises a substantially circular base 20, a skirt 30 extending from the periphery thereof, a bore seal 50 in the form of an annulus and a rib 70 lying on the surface of the base 20 in a substantially radial direction and in contact with the radially inner surface of the bore seal 50 at one end for transferring any movement of the centre of the base 20, relative to the skirt 30, to the bore seal 50 such that the bore seal 50 is pulled radially inward to allow venting of excess pressure within the container, wherein the end of the rib 70 in contact with the radially inner surface of the bore seal 50 is substantially thinner, in a plane parallel to the base 20, than the other end of the rib 70.

    Abstract: A plastic closure for a container is provided. The closure includes a top plate with a side skirt depending from the periphery thereof. A sealing strip depends from the top plate and is adapted to sealingly engage a container neck finish. The closure also comprises an abutment member including a guide surface for guiding the sealing strip towards the neck finish as the closure is applied, in increase to strength of the seal. The guide surface includes a guide member that projects from the abutment member, thereby minimizing friction between the strip and the abutment member. The sealing strip is inclined radially towards the neck finish to improve the sealing effect.

    Abstract: The tamperproof closing device for a receptacle having a threaded collar comprises a screw cap (1) consisting of a bottom (8) and a cylindrical skirt (9) having inner threading for co-operation with the corresponding threading (5) on the collar (2) and extended by a tamperproof ring (13) which is attached by frangible means (20). The collar has a plurality of outer radial notches arranged at the base thereof. Said notches are circumferentially oriented and the ring comprises a plurality of inner radial reliefs (15) whose profile is complementary to that of the notches (7). The orientations and dimensions of the notches (7) and reliefs (15) are determined in such a way that the second items can pass onto the first items in the direction of screwing as a result of elastic deformation of the constitutive material and can prevent the same from occurring in the opposite direction. The reliefs (15) are formed on an annular lip (14) which is turned back and originates from the tamperproof ring (13).

    Abstract: A pouring cap for mounting atop a neck of a container is unitarily formed of a synthetic resin with a body adapted to fit over the neck of the container and having an outer body edge centered on an axis, a central pour tube within the edge and forming an axially throughgoing outflow passage, and a cover sealingly engageable in a closed position with the body over the passage at the edge. A hinge is provided on the edge between the body and the cover and a hook projects axially from the cover in the closed position past the edge of the body at a location on the edge generally diametrically opposite the hinge. A retaining element defines with the body an opening adjacent the edge opposite the hinge location. The hook is engageable with elastic deformation through the opening to catch underneath the retaining element and once inserted through the opening is engaged such that the hook or the element must be permanently deformed to move the cover from the closed position.

    Abstract: A closure for a recipient having an upwardly open annular neck centered on an axis and formed with an external attachment formation and an axially downwardly projecting shoulder has a unitary one-piece cap formed of a relatively soft synthetic resin and a unitary one-piece tamper-resistant ring formed of a relatively hard synthetic resin. The cap itself is formed with an end sealingly fittable over the neck and an annular skirt projecting axially from the end and formed internally with an attachment formation complementary to that of the neck. The skirt has remote from the end a rim and is formed between the rim and the end with a radially inwardly open groove. The tamper-resistant ring is formed with an annular upper part having an outwardly projecting ridge normally seated in the groove of the skirt, an annular lower part having an inwardly projecting lip fitting axially under the shoulder of the neck, and a relatively fragile web axially joining the unitarily formed with both parts.
