  • Patent number: 8359626
Abstract: A method of transmission of application data (97) in a digital transport stream characterized in providing an application data table (110) containing information regarding the applications (97) carried in each service (91, 92) within the transport stream. The application data table (110) may conveniently be designated by a fixed PID value and a TID extension value varying in dependence on the bouquet of services chosen. The use of a single application data table to provide information across all services within a bouquet provides a number of advantages, in particular when deciding whether or not to maintain certain applications when switching between services.

  • Patent number: 8024960
Abstract: A method and device is disclosed for evaluating simultaneously, and with the same equipment, the electric resistivity and flow parameters of a porous medium, from experimental measurements obtained from at least one multi-flow type displacement experiment which has application in oil reservoir development. The method continuously measures as a function of time the differential pressure between two ends of a sample, the electric resistivity of the sample and, for each stabilization step, at least two values of a displaced fluid production volume are also measured. A continuous curve of the displaced fluid production volume, from which flow parameters are estimated by means of a numerical flow simulator, is then deduced therefrom.

  • Patent number: 7730517
Abstract: A method of transmission of digital information in a digital communication network, the network comprising at least one transport stream carrying one or more bouquet related tables such as BAT tables (53, 54) containing information regarding the services provided in a commercial bouquet and characterised in transmitting at least one table (51) comprising a list of bouquet identity values of some or all of the bouquet association tables together with an indication of the or each transport stream carrying that table or tables. In a particularly preferred embodiment, the table (51) containing a list of bouquet identity values may correspond to the Network Information Table of a network. The present invention also extends to the identification of any fixed PID, TID tables that may only be distinguished by their TID extension values. The present invention is particularly applicable to digital television systems conforming to the MPEG-2 and DVB proposed standards.

  • Patent number: 6185985
Abstract: The invention is a process and device for performing successive drainage and imbibition phases of a first electrically-conducting fluid and a second fluid of lower density than the first fluid, in a porous sample (1) by means of a centrifuge. Each sample is placed in a main chamber (3) of an elongate vessel (2) fastened to the end of an arm of the centrifuge, together with a spacer (6) whose volume is so selected that, on the one hand, the interface between the two fluids does not come into contact with the sample in operation and, on the other hand, the volume of chamber (3) remaining free around the sample and the associated spacer is greater than, but preferably close to the pore volume of the sample, so as to maximize the displacement amplitude of the interface for a given variation of the volume of fluid displaced. A capacitive sonde (11) in an auxiliary cavity (4), connected to an outer measuring device, is used for measuring the displacements of the interface.
