  • Patent number: 6645620
Abstract: The invention concerns a material based on halogenated thermoplastic resin, comprising long fibers, characterized in that at least one long fiber is in close contact with a polymer based on alkyl (meth)acrylate. The invention also concerns the methods for making such a material and its uses.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 25, 2001
Date of Patent: November 11, 2003
    Assignee: Atofina
Inventors: Carole Dupuy, Philippe Renouard, Régis Jacquemet
  • Patent number: 6572729
Abstract: Polyurethane formulations based on hydroxylated polybutadiene are catalyzed by an N-substituted imidazole derivative. This type of catalysis advantageously replaces the conventional catalysts based on mercury salt. The catalysis does not pose an environmental problem and allows a particular increase in viscosity, permitting an extended pot life and rapid setting.

  • Patent number: 6143415
Abstract: The invention relates to a bonding agent for PVDF, containing alkyl (alkyl)acrylate units and units bearing a carboxylic acid functional group. This bonding agent, containing PVDF, forms a barrier to hydrocarbons. The invention also relates to the material including the present bonding agent, especially petrol pipes including polyamide and the present bonding agent, in conjunction with PVDF.

  • Patent number: 5916945
Abstract: The present invention relates to antistatic and adherent compositions based on polyamide, which can be employed especially for the manufacture of composite materials and articles, such as multilayer pipes and/or conduits for conveying and/or storing hydrocarbons. The compositions contain carbon black and are employed for the production of pipes, containers and drums including:an inner layer in contact with the hydrocarbons, based on the said antistatic and adherent composition,a middle layer made of fluoropolymer, preferably of polyvinylidene fluoride, andan outer layer of polyamide, these layers being bonded to each other respectively by layers of adhesive binder. The invention also relates to a process for preparing these items.

  • Patent number: 5552481
Abstract: Polyblend molding compositions, well adopted for the production of flame-resistant and adhesively integral composite shaped articles, are formulated from particulates of (a) at least one vinyl chloride polymer, (b) at least one polyolefin, and (c) at least one .alpha.-monoolefin terpolymer having a vinyl chloride polymer grafted to the backbone thereof.
