  • Patent number: 8179124
Abstract: The invention relates to an inductive proximity sensor for embedding in a mild steel mounting plate, comprising an enclosure with a front wall of synthetic material forming a sensing face at a front end of the enclosure, an oscillator comprising a sensor coil with a core made of a material with a relative magnetic permeability larger than 1, typically a ferrite, which is arranged within the enclosure behind the front wall so that an open side of the core is directed towards the sensing face in order to direct the magnetic field of the coil towards a target in front of the sensing face, a hollow cylindrical metal member arranged perpendicular to the sensing face and surrounding the core, and a measuring circuit for measuring an attenuation of the oscillator due to eddy currents. The core is radially surrounded by a metal layer with a low electrical resistivity of less than 15 ??·cm and with a thickness of less than 40 ?m, in order to improve the embeddability of the sensor.

  • Patent number: 6567485
Abstract: Apparatus for communication between a neural network and a user system via a bus includes an activity/frequency converter for each neurone of the network. The activity/frequency converter produces activity pulses which are encoded by encoders and then placed on the communication bus. Arbitration arrangements for each converter include an inhibition control circuit and a blocking circuit connected in common to all the converters to transmit a temporary blocking command to them. Each control circuit detects the presence of a pulse at the output of its associated converter and, while any such pulse is present, activates the blocking circuit so that it transmits the command for temporarily blocking their operation to the other converters.

  • Patent number: 5771337
Abstract: A cell for an electronic diffusion network that can be connected with neighboring cells for the transmission of information via linking elements (8n, 8rn, 8sn) having a nonlinear conduction characteristic. The cell also includes a connection node (1n) whose potential is representative of the excited state of the cell and to which is linked at least one of the linking elements (8n). The connection node (1n) is inserted into a series circuit which includes a current source (3n) and a current consuming element (5n) so as to fix the potential of the node (1n) to which the current source (3n) is connected by way of a switch element (2n) that has selective closure with the aid of activation pulses. A network equipped with such cells can assign both a temporal parameter and a quantitative parameter to the information diffused.

  • Patent number: 5587580
Abstract: The invention relates to an optoelectronic sensor for measuring the intensity and the direction of incidence of a light beam, the sensor being of the type comprising a matrix of pixels; an optical system designed to form a light spot on the matrix of pixels; and a signal process for determining the geometrical center of the light spot on the matrix, the signal processor constituted by two arrays of connections between the pixels of the matrix, substantially in radii and in concentric circles, the coordinates of the light spot on the matrix giving an image of the azimuth angle and of the elevation angle of the incident light beam, the device also including circuits associated with the two arrays of connections between the pixels to compute the azimuth and elevation coordinates respectively of the incident light beam.
