    Abstract: An anti-theft mechanism for use in a portable computer system mechanism protects a removable component from being easily stolen. The anti-theft mechanism comprises an opening on a lower case of the portable computer system; a through-hole in the portable component; and a securing element for inserting into the through-hole. The securing element allows movement of the portable component when in a first position, and prevents movement of the portable component when in a second position.
