Abstract: Described are flavored calcium supplement compositions, beverage (e.g., coffee, milk, cocoa and citrus/whey protein), foodstuff, chewing gum and oral care (e.g., toothpaste and mouthwash) compositions and articles comprising flavored calcium supplements, foodstuff, beverage, chewing gum and oral care base compositions and intimately admixed therewith an aroma or taste augmenting, enhancing or imparting quantity and concentration of one or more freeze-dried or spray-dried tastand compositions containing tastands produced from Saccharum officinarum leaves (sugarcane leaves) by means of carrying out one or more physical separation unit operations on a plurality of such leaves, macerates thereof or mixtures of leaves and macerates thereof whereby one or more natural food additives, chewing gum additives or oral care additives is separated and isolated from the remainder of the plurality of leaves, macerates thereof or mixtures of leaves end macerates thereof.

Abstract: Described is a process for augmenting, enhancing or imparting an aroma or taste of or to a consumable material which can be: (i) a calcium supplement; (ii) a foodstuff; (iii) a beverage; (iv) a chewing gum; (v) a toothpaste; or (vi) an oral care such as a mouthwash, by adding to the consumable material a tastand composition obtained from Saccharum officinarum leaves (sugarcane leaves) by means of carrying out a sequence of physical separation unit operations on a plurality of such leaves, macerates thereof or mixtures of leaves and macerates thereof, whereby the tastand composition is separated and isolated from the remainder of the plurality of leaves, macerates thereof or mixtures of leaves and macerates thereof; and then spray-drying or freeze-drying the resulting product.

Abstract: 2-aryl-3,4-diazabicyclo[4.n.0]-alk-2-en-5-ones of the formula ##STR1## where m, n, R, R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 have the stated meanings, are used for the treatment of cardiac insufficiency.

Abstract: Novel 6-(acylaminoaryl)-3(2H)-pyridazinones of the formula ##STR1## where R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, A and B have the meanings given in the description, and their preparation are described and inhibiting thrombocyte aggregation and gastric secretion.The compounds are useful for treating disorders.

Abstract: 6-Aryl-4,5-dihydro-3(2H)-pyridazinones of the formula ##STR1## where R is hydrogen, R.sup.1 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 -alkyl, or R and R.sup.1 together are methylene, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are identical or different and are each hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl, and A is hydroxyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkoxy, C.sub.2 -C.sub.7 -acyloxy, a C.sub.2 -C.sub.7 -carbamic acid ester group, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkylsulfonyloxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkylmercapto, carboxyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.7 -alkoxycarbonyl or nitrile, and their preparation are described. The substances are suitable for treating disorders.

Abstract: 2-Aryl-3,4-diazabicyclo[4.n.O]alk-2-en-5-ones of the formula I ##STR1## where m and n are identical or different and each is 1, 2 or 3, and R, R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are identical or different and each is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 6 C atoms, said compounds are useful for treating high blood pressure and thrombo-embolic disorders.

The products are starting materials for the manufacture of pharmaceuticals, dyes and plant protection agents and, in particular, for the manufacture of additives to foodstuffs, feeds, beverages and pharmaceuticals.

Abstract: 3-Halosulfonylthiophene-carboxylic acid compounds are manufactured by reacting 3-ketothiophane-carboxylic acid compounds with sulfonic acid compounds, reacting the end product from the 1st reaction stage with alkali metal polysulfides, reacting the end product from the 2nd stage with a dehydrogenating agent and finally reacting the end product from the 3rd stage with halogen and water. The products are starting compounds for the manufacture of drugs, dyes and crop protection agents and have an anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-rheumatic action. In particular, the end products I are starting materials for the manufacture of sweeteners which are non-toxic and free from an after-taste, flavor-improving agents, diabetic aids and feedstuffs, and provide the means of a simple and economical synthesis of thiophene-saccharins.
