Additionally, there is disclosed the treatment of Kaposi's sarcoma with 3'-azido-3'-deoxythymidine (AZT) and the synergistic activity in the treatment of humans infected with HTLV-III of AZT and interferon as well as AZT and acyclovir and AZT and 2-amino-9-(2-hydroxyethoxymethyl)purine or an ester thereof.
