  • Publication number: 20090204437
Abstract: A system and method for improving diagnoses of patients may include accessing diagnostic information, prepared by a treating physician, of a medical condition of a patient from a third-party collector of the diagnostic information. Medical images associated with the medical condition of the patient may be accessed. At least a portion of the diagnostic information and the medical images may be communicated to a medical image reading professional to read and further diagnose the medical condition of the patient. In one embodiment, the diagnostic information includes a diagnostic question. By providing the diagnostic information to the medical image reading professional, the medical image reading professional may have additional knowledge of the medical condition of the patient and, therefore, diagnosis by the medical image reading professional may be improved.

  • Publication number: 20090204445
Abstract: A system and method for insurance companies contracting with and paying medical image reading professionals in a medical image reading professionals network. The network may be independent of a medical facility and be arranged to have each of the medical image reading professionals may be an expert in reading medical images of particular anatomical regions. The insurance companies may have lower overall costs by contracting with the medical image reading professionals who are experts in reading medical images of anatomical regions, modalities, and medical conditions as misdiagnoses are reduced due to proficiency of the medical image reading professionals.

  • Publication number: 20090204436
Abstract: A system and method for improving medical care through tracking reported findings or diagnoses of patient medical conditions and feeding back actual medical conditions and patient medical condition outcomes to determine accuracy of the reported findings. By feeding back the actual medical conditions and patient medical condition outcomes, a quantitative measure of each reported finding of each medical professional can be determined. One medical professional expertise in which the feedback system can be particularly useful is with medical image reading professionals, as this medical professional expertise provides a basis for other medical professionals to determine treatment and/or additional testing options.

  • Patent number: 6832559
Abstract: The invention provides roller rail clamp apparatus for use in lifting a rail for operations such as replacement of ballast or resurfacing of a railway. The apparatus comprises parallel pairs of spaced-apart lift roller assemblies mounted to a support for positioning a pair of clamping to a rail of the track, each the lift roller assembly comprising at least one pair of rollers, wherein each the roller of a roller pair rotates on an axis in an essentially vertical plane adjacent a rail and the rollers are on opposite sides of a rail when a lift roller assembly is clamped thereto with the head of the rail releasably retained upwardly of flanges at the lower ends of the rollers; means for adjustably connecting the apparatus to a carrier thereof; a lift mechanism for adjusting the vertical position of the support relative to the carrier of the apparatus; and a tilt mechanism for applying torque about a horizontal axis to linkage between members of a pair of lift roller assemblies.
