  • Publication number: 20100172437
Abstract: A signal pre-processor, for at least partially correcting non-linear performance of a high power amplifier (“HPA”), operates on an over-sampled signal in complex form in the digital domain. By converting the over-sampled signal to amplitude values, the pre-processor is enabled to apply correction values, based on the amplitude values, which correction values incorporate both amplitude and phase correction in respect of distortion generated in the HPA. The use of an over-sampled signal allows out-of-band correction values to be applied to correct out-of-band distortion arising in the signal processing path, for instance in the linearization process itself. The out-of-band distortion can otherwise alias back in-band, creating noise at the HPA.

  • Patent number: 7224810
Abstract: The disclosure includes description of a method of noise reduction according to one possible implementation. An audio signal is sampled at a sample rate f. The audio signal is converted to a digital signal in the time domain. For each of a series of frames of time, the digital signal in the time domain is converted to a digital signal in frequency domain for the frame of time. The converting includes determining a set of frequency domain values. The frequency domain values in the set are created by a set of digital filters, and the digital filters are related to each other by a constant ratio of filter bandwidth to center frequency, related to a perceptual scale for audio processing. A set of minimum magnitude frequency domain values is obtained. These values include, at each frequency represented by the frequency domain values, a frequency domain value having a minimum magnitude from among frequency domain values for such frequency over a time interval spanning multiple frames of time.

  • Publication number: 20060097027
Abstract: A surgical stapling device having a removable staple cartridge is disclosed. The cartridge includes a first opening in the staple-forming end of the housing member to allow access to the a staple and an aligned second opening to allow the lead staple to move therethrough. The staple cartridge also comprises a fixed blocking surface on the housing member and a traveling blocking surface on a feeder shoe. The traveling blocking surface is sized so that the feeder shoe moves relative to the fixed blocking surface while moving the staple. The feeder shoe is further shaped so that, when the trigger member is actuated when no staples remain in the staple cartridge, the staple former is not blocked by the feeder shoe.

  • Publication number: 20050139116
Abstract: A railcar is provided with an axle assembly including first and second axle devices that allow one axle device to move relative to the other axle device. In one embodiment, the first axle device is rigidly secured to the platform and the second axle device is pivotally secured to the platform. The second axle device includes terminal ends for supporting conventional hub and wheel assemblies. A plate extends from the axle device and pivotally attaches to the platform. In another embodiment, the present invention is used in connection with a mobile toilet system supported on the upper side of the platform. The platform is relatively rigid to accommodate for the hard plumbing connections of the mobile toilet system.

  • Publication number: 20050044616
Abstract: A waste treatment assembly for processing organic waste includes a frame having rails interconnected by a plurality of cross members. A waste treatment system is supported on the frame. A cabin of organic polymer presenting a floor and side walls extends upwardly from and connected to the frame. A metal plate extends over the floor and connects the floor to the frame by sandwiching the floor between the plate and the frame thereby clamping the cabin to the frame. A toilet unit of the waste treatment system is connected to the metal plate. A support interconnects the frame and the metal plate for distributing loads under the toilet unit equally over the floor for preventing the floor from bending under the loads applied thereto.
