  • Publication number: 20240074486
Abstract: A melt-blown fabric for pouching smokeless tobacco or a smokeless tobacco substitute can include melt-blown polymer fibers. The fabric can have a basis weight of less than 30 gsm and a tensile strength of at least 4mJ in at least one predetermined direction. Method of making the fabric can include melt-blowing a polymeric material against a support surface and bonding the fibers or arranging them in a predetermined orientation. Pouched smokeless tobacco or tobacco substitute products including the fabrics provided herein can provide desirable flavor and tactile experience.

  • Patent number: 9078633
Abstract: A vessel access and closure device places a running suture in the wall of a blood vessel using a rotating helical suture needle that carries the suture along a helical path passing through the vessel wall, then reverses rotation to release a suture anchor attached to the distal end of the suture. A loose helical coil of suture is left behind as the helical suture needle withdraws. The device is withdrawn and replaced with a vessel dilator and an introducer sheath that opens up a larger access opening into the blood vessel and creates a pathway that passes though the helical coil of suture for introducing an interventional device into the blood vessel. After the interventional procedure is completed, the interventional device and the introducer sheath are withdrawn and the running suture is tightened and secured with a suture lock to close the access opening into the vessel.

  • Publication number: 20150073478
Abstract: Suture anchoring devices include retention features that will hold the anchoring devices in place and resist displacement when tension is applied to an attached suture in a direction opposite direction of placement. The anchors may be deployed by a needle shaft in a placement direction (which may be straight, curved, or a combination of both), and the needle shaft may have a sharpened or a blunt tip depending on the nature of the anchor. The anchors will find use when a distal end of the suture attached to the anchor is to be left in place in solid tissue so that it cannot be tied off.

  • Patent number: 8589036
Abstract: A method and system for automatically setting adjusting and monitoring load-based limits is capable of monitoring the hookload, rig weight and combined measured weight and compare those parameters to limits. If any of the hookload, rig weight or measured weight should increase to a level beyond its limit, the system is able to adjust the operation of the well service rig to limit damage to the equipment and danger to the operators and service personnel. The system is also capable of adjusting each of the limits as the weight of the rig and actual hookload change over time while conducting an activity to maintain the respective limits in the most beneficial range.
