  • Patent number: 11549639
Abstract: A magnetic roofing attachment assembly utilizes a magnetic connecting arrangement to support rooftop equipment without mechanically penetrating a waterproof membrane of the roof. First and second members on opposite sides of waterproof barrier are magnetically coupled (connected) through the barrier to secure an external support for rooftop equipment.

  • Publication number: 20220099220
Abstract: A support structure for supporting items on a roof structure comprises a tubular metal support structure. A lower surface of the tubular metal support structure may be adhesively secured to an exterior roof surface without use of mechanical fasteners. A pipe or other item may be secured to an upper portion of the tubular metal support structure.

  • Publication number: 20150315420
Abstract: Improved adhesive between a sheet material having a low free energy surface, such as a polyolefin, polystyrene, or polyethylene terephthalate film, is achieved by treating the film surface with a silane coupling agent that provides hydrolyzable groups on the surface of the film, and employing an adhesive composition comprising a polymer having reactive silyl groups (e.g., silyl-functionalized polyethers, polyurethanes and/or polyesters). Such improved sheet products can be advantageously employed as weather barriers for building construction applications, eliminating the need for, and disadvantages of, mechanical fasteners.

  • Patent number: 6101767
Abstract: A structural termination system includes a one-piece elongated structural member having an outer wall and a horizontal bottom wall defining a lower surface having substantially the same contour as an upper surface of an associated building wall, wherein the building wall is characterized by the absence of a wood nailer structure adjacent the upper surface of the building wall. The structural member further includes a drip edge extending downwardly from the outer wall such that the outer wall and drip edge cooperate to define an integral fascia. Structural adhesive is disposed on the lower surface of the elongated structural member and securely bonds the structural member directly to an upper surface of an associated building wall without a wood nailer structure or mechanical fasteners along the structural member.

  • Patent number: 4271115
Abstract: A method of producing a pre-wet, dust-free form of asbestos short fibers comprises admixing about 60-90% by weight of asbestos short fibers with about 10-40% by weight of liquid in a manner so as to produce an agglomerated product, with the liquid including a relatively non-volatile binder comprising about 5-40% of the product, a sufficient quantity of a solvent or volatile component to reduce the viscosity of the liquid to a level that permits easy formation of an agglomerate, and a sufficient quantity of a surfactant to cause thorough wetting of the fibers in the product. The agglomerated product is stored for at least about 24-72 hours after production so as to permit the liquid to completely infiltrate and fully wet the agglomerated product. Hydrophilic liquids are used to produce asbestos agglomerate designed for admixture with predominately polar materials, organophilic liquids are used for producing asbestos agglomerate prepared for admixture with non-polar materials.

  • Patent number: RE41586
Abstract: A one-part pourable sealant that is thermosetting, non-shrinking, and capable of quickly curing in a closed cavity to a depth of at least two inches includes a silyl-terminated polymer, a hygroscopic plasticizer present in an amount that is effective to promote rapid and deep curing, and a catalyst for promoting curing of the silyl-terminated polymer. The sealer composition is useful in a method of forming a seal around a roof penetration. The method includes dispensing the sealer composition into a pitch pocket formed around a roof penetration and allowing the sealer composition dispensed into the pitch pocket to cure by exposure to moisture in the air.
