  • Patent number: 8343464
Abstract: A method of treating Eustachian tube dysfunction in a person includes placing the person's body in a position substantially lying on one of the person's left or right sides. The side on which the person is lying is the side affected by Eustachian tube dysfunction. A composition of simethicone in a concentration of about 0.05% to 0.65% wt/vol diluted in an aqueous carrier is introduced through the nasal cavity of the same side on which the person is lying. The simethicone composition is then allowed to coat the person's pharynx on the side of which the person is lying.
