  • Patent number: 7857019
Abstract: A system for cutting a profile along a linear edge of a wooden workpiece utilizes two spaced-apart rotatable cutting tools which are mounted for rotation in opposite rotational directions and a support surface for supporting the workpiece for movement along each of the two cutting tools. By positioning the workpiece upon the support surface so that the linear edge thereof extends between the two cutting tools, the workpiece can be moved into cutting engagement with a first of the cutting tools and subsequently into cutting engagement with the second of the cutting tools. By subsequently reversing the movement of the workpiece along the first cutting tool before the cutting edges thereof exit a trailing (side) edge of the workpiece, the likelihood that the workpiece will be damaged from the profile-forming process is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20100186152
Abstract: A lightweight, flexible, light-attenuating sun and glare shield is disclosed that is attachable via static electricity to the inside of a motorcycle helmet visor. No modification of the motorcycle helmet or visor is required for attachment of the shield, and the shield need not be specially configured for a specific model of helmet, so long as the shape and size of the shield is generally compatible with the visor. The shield is easily removed from the visor and rolled up for convenient transportation and storage. In preferred embodiments, the light attenuating shield is polarized and/or includes graduated tinting. Some embodiments include a storage canister for easy transportation and storage of the shield, and certain embodiments include a plurality of shields, which can be disposable and/or can include shields with different light attenuating properties.

  • Publication number: 20090293992
Abstract: A system and method for cutting a profile along a linear edge of a wooden workpiece utilizes two spaced-apart rotatable cutting tools whose cutting edges mirror one another and which are mounted for rotation about parallel axes. The cutting tools are rotated in opposite rotational directions, and a support surface supports the workpiece for movement along each of the two cutting tools. By positioning the workpiece upon the support surface so that the linear edge thereof extends between the two cutting tools, the workpiece can be moved in one direction into cutting engagement with a first of the rotating cutting tools and subsequently in the opposite direction into cutting engagement with the second of the rotating cutting tools. By halting and subsequently reversing the movement of the workpiece along the first cutting tool before the cutting edges thereof exit a trailing (side) edge of the workpiece, the likelihood that the workpiece will be damaged from the profile-forming process is reduced.
