  • Patent number: 11961987
Abstract: Described herein are battery modules and methods of fabricating thereof. In some examples, a battery module comprises an enclosure, separated into two enclosure portions and a thermal portion, positioned between the two enclosure portions. Two enclosure portions are in part defined by side walls, which can be tapered. The thermal portion comprises two thermal walls, which are operable as the bottoms of the two enclosure portions and form a thermal cavity between these thermal walls. In some examples, the enclosure is a monolithically cast component. Alternatively, the enclosure can be partially cast with one thermal wall welded thereafter to a cast subassembly. The battery module also comprises two sets of batteries, each positioned into a corresponding enclosure portion. Each battery set is interconnected with an interconnecting assembly, positioned between the battery set and the corresponding cover, for this enclosure portion.

  • Patent number: 11944431
Abstract: A system and a method for creating a stable and reproducible interface of an optical sensor system for measuring blood glucose levels in biological tissue include a dual wedge prism sensor attached to a disposable optic that comprises a focusing lens and an optical window. The disposable optic adheres to the skin to allow a patient to take multiple readings or scans at the same location. The disposable optic includes a Petzval surface placed flush against the skin to maintain the focal point of the optical beam on the surface of the skin. Additionally, the integrity of the sensor signal is maximized by varying the rotation rates of the dual wedge prisms over time in relation to the depth scan rate of the sensor. Optimally, a medium may be injected between the disposable and the skin to match the respective refractive indices and optimize the signal collection of the sensor.

  • Patent number: 11949080
Abstract: Described herein are battery packs and electric vehicles using these packs. In some examples, a battery pack comprises two portions/covers and a set of battery modules positioned within the enclosed cavity formed by these portions. A battery pack may comprise a set of pressure-relief valves positioned in and protruding through a wall of at least one portion. Each valve can be coaxial with a corresponding gap provided between two adjacent modules. The valve is configured to provide a fluid path (to the exterior of the battery pack) when the pressure inside the pack exceeds a set threshold. In some examples, the battery pack comprises an inlet tube fluidically coupled to the inlet port of each module and an outlet tube fluidically coupled to the outlet port of each module. A set of specially configured orifices or controllable valves is positioned on the fluid path through each module.

  • Publication number: 20220391847
Abstract: A computer communication system promotes collaboration between organizations by enabling secure sharing of information between organizations having separate databases. The system provides a portal generator for creation of one or more portals or channels through which data of each organization can be shared. The portals can be setup for planned or emergency events within a given region, e.g., a municipality, with tasks associated with each event. Users can register to become members of each portal, with membership being assigned automatically or with respect to predetermined criteria. In some embodiments, permissions of each member can be altered to ensure selected access to data within the channel based on the organization with which the member associates. After being registered, members can receive real-time updates on event progress from members within their organization and/or external to their organization.

  • Patent number: 9692322
Abstract: An inverter phase leg for a DC-AC inverter includes a high supply line and a low supply line across which a DC voltage is provided. A high side gate controlled switch is connected to the high supply line and a low side gate controlled switch is connected to the low supply line, with an output node between the high side switch and the low side switch. An inverting driver is connected to the high side gate controlled switch. The inverting driver's voltage source is configured in such a way as to hold the high side gate controlled switch off during the turn on cycle until the driver output has overcome the negative bias generated across the high side switch gate, producing high immunity to spurious turn on. A digital isolator is connected between the inverting driver and a control signal for switching the inverter phase leg. A differential transmitter and differential receiver may be used to further increase noise immunity.
