  • Publication number: 20240098006
Abstract: A control message is generated by a source device, the control message including an indication that least one intermediate device in a path of devices between the source device and a destination device is to send a plurality of ICMP echo requests to a next device in the path of devices. The source device sends, to the at least one intermediate device, the control message. The source device receives, from the at least one intermediate device, a control message response originating from the destination device, the control message response comprising, for each respective intermediate device of the at least one intermediate device, round trip time information derived from a plurality of ICMP echo requests issued by the respective intermediate device to a corresponding next device in the path of devices.

  • Publication number: 20240061032
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed to identify defects in a cable plant including a cable comprises a carriage and a roller attached to the carriage. The roller is configured to sit on a cable plant. A motor is attached to the carriage and is coupled to the roller to cause rotation of the roller in at least a first direction, to cause movement of the carriage across the cable plant. A transmitter is attached to the carriage and an antenna is coupled to the transmitter. The antenna is configured to emit an RF signal under the control of the transmitter. If there is a defect in the cable, the RF signal may enter the cable through a defect. Detection of the RF signal in the cable is indicative of the presence of a defect in the cable and the location of the defect. Methods and systems are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8841896
Abstract: A power factor corrected switched mode power supply including a phase shifter that senses the mains frequency and phase shifts it to produce a phase shifted signal which modulates the switching signal supplied to the switches based on the phase shifted signal. • Patent number: 8520808
Abstract: A single, subjective numerical rating to evaluate the performance of a telephone-based spoken dialog system. This CE rating is provided by expert human listeners who have knowledge of the design of the dialog system. Different human raters can be trained to achieve a satisfactory level of agreement. Furthermore, a classifier trained on ratings by human experts can reproduce the human ratings with the same degree of consistency. More calls can be given a CE rating than would be possible with limited human resources. More information can be provided about individual calls, e.g., to help decide between two disparate ratings by different human experts.

  • Patent number: 7902992
Abstract: The sensitivity and accuracy of a status indicator for sensing a current in an electrical circuit is improved by shifting the reference level of the transformer output to maximize the input signal to a precision voltage detector and by reducing the hysteresis of the status indicator by balancing the burden of the current transformer during the positive and negative alternations of the AC signal and by driving secondary loads with a voltage to current converter.

  • Patent number: 7772851
Abstract: The invention relates to a new VRLA battery float model. The model covers the steady state and transient float charge behavior of both positive and negative electrodes. Backup analysis verifies the internal polarization distribution for a conventional 2V-cell polarization behaviors can be identified without the need for a physical reference electrode. The estimated individual electrode polarization allows early detection of common failure modes like negative plate discharge as well as a reference for float voltage optimisation. Furthermore, the positive polarization relating to minimum grid corrosion may be correlated with the occurrence of the peak of a “Tafel” like resistance used by the model. The model encourages utilisation of low signal perturbation for testing a cell's state of health and state of charge conditions while at float.

  • Publication number: 20050036594
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to monitoring performance of interactive automated customer applications and more particularly to monitoring performance of an interactive voice response (IVR) system. The present invention monitors IVR state changes in an IVR application. The present invention appends IVR state changes to a history log to allow performance monitoring. Specifically, the present invention logs successful goal completion states (in addition to other information) in the history log where successful goal completion states are associated with a plurality of events associated with said IVR application.
