  • Patent number: 8348287
Abstract: A slab cart for sheet material which comprises a dolly component. A shelf component receives the sheet material. A mechanism is for coupling the shelf component to the dolly component in a pivotable manner, so that the shelf component will go from a horizontal position to a vertical position. When the shelf component is in the horizontal position the sheet material will be manually slid off of the shelf component onto a support table and be manually slid from the support table onto the shelf component. When the shelf component with the sheet material is in the vertical position, the sheet material will be held on edge to the shelf component and be transported by the dolly component through the confines of narrow places.

  • Publication number: 20080223035
Abstract: The present invention relates to a brake fluid valve assembly (12). Assembly (12) comprises a housing (14) defining an inner chamber (21). A first non-return valve (32) and a second non-return valve (33) are arranged in the chamber (21). The housing (14) defines an inlet (22) and outlets (23, 24). Assembly (12) also comprises feed port means (34) arranged to allow fluid to flow from the inlet (22) to the first non-return valve (32). The first non-return valve (32) is arranged to let fluid flow from a master cylinder (11) through the inlet (22) and through the outlets (23, 24) towards a caliper (1) to apply a brake. Return port means (50) are arranged to allow fluid to flow from the outlets (23, 24) to the second non-return valve (33). The second non-return valve (33) is arranged to let fluid flow from a caliper through the outlets (23, 24) and through the inlet (22) towards a master cylinder (11). The assembly also comprises a restrictor port (52) between the outlet and the second non-return valve.

  • Patent number: 5559625
Abstract: A distributive communications network includes groups of nodes at different levels. Each set of nodes at one level is connected to an associated node in the level above for transmission and reception of traffic. Traffic is assigned to one of a number of bands of wavelengths according to whether it is local or wider area traffic. At the first level of node local area traffic in the corresponding band of wavelengths is looped back and retransmitted to all of the terminals that are connected to that node. At each level of node, traffic is either passed on to a higher level, or looped back according to the band of wavelengths to which it is assigned. Thus, the wavelength band determines the node level at which the traffic is looped back, and the breadth of terminals ultimately exposed to this traffic. It is possible to re-use bands of wavelengths for communicating between terminals.

  • Patent number: 5412995
Abstract: A single-ply roof cover fatigue tester includes an adjustable platen to which a roof cover sample is attached. Movement of the platen relative to a support frame adjusts the angle at which a tension force is applied to the sample by fluid pressure cylinders. The platen is long enough to accommodate the roof cover sample and three associated fasteners in a straight line at a spacing commonly used in actual roof cover installations. A control system controls the flow of pressure fluid to fluid pressure cylinders on opposite sides of the sample to alternately increase the tension on one side and then the other, while maintaining a minimum tension on the opposite side. A counter is provided to indicate the number of times the increasing tension alternates from one side to the other.
